In an effort to bring a higher profile to this game I like (read: new addiction), I wanted to let you know about two retailers in Aurora, Illinois that I visited and saw no DD presence so I'm not sure if you knew of them...
1. Game Knight near the Fox Valley Mall http://www.gameknightgaming.com/
2. In the Fox Valley Mall, Gamers World http://www.westfield.com/us/retailers/us-gamers-world-new/foxvalley _________________ 465 dice and counting...

I'm sure if you go into about 80% of the game stores around the country, they don't carry Dragon Diceâ„¢. The only way we get into stores is if they see people playing it. And they are open-minded about it. I had one store owner tell me that the only games that gamers want are trade-card games. He wouldn't admit that anyone ever plays board games. And this was at GenCon where Catan had about 25% of the exhibit hall! _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Yup, unfortunately the impression that the game has is one of being 'dead' years ago. Its not enough for us to call them and tell them we aren't dead. They want someone local to run events, etc.
That person is most likely to be you _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

I see how it is...
Well, I'm all about that from a conceptual point, but right now my time is limited with owning a restaurant (so 9:30-8:30 most everyday and time on Sundays). I know you get the picture.
I guess the question is, should I just show up and start playing DD in their gaming area...LOL

Cliff Wiggs and Chuck Pint are both quite correct. The only way to get Dragon Diceâ„¢ into your local stores is to be there, playing it, running demos, making it seem real to the owner instead of just something they're talking about online.
After a couple of years running our group in Los Angeles, I was able to get Dragon Diceâ„¢ into TWO of our favorite game stores:
Knight Ware, Inc.
and
Emerald Knights Comics & Games
We are running events regularly every Thursday and I created a Facebook Community page:
www.facebook.com/SoCalDragonDice
And after a time they'll see people playing it in their store -- inevitably they'll see dollar signs when they realize that these gamers are gonna buy it from an online retailer if they don't actually stock their own shelves....
It takes time and lots of patience (especially with retailers who are distracted by the latest fad from Cryptozoic or whatever new release MtG is putting out), but you will succeed if you plant yourself there in that store and roll them bones!
