I discovered Dragon Dice⢠just a few weeks ago, thanks to a post that loligarchy made on a dice forum, and I asked him about it. After messaging him for a few days about how to play, I decided to jump in headfirst (I've got maybe 500 dice now)! I played my first game last week, and I've got maybe 8 games under my belt now (also shout out to bluewizard - we live near each other and he taught me and another friend to play).
Just wanted to say how much I am love with this game! I love dice, and I love strategy, so this game is awesome. I'm still trying to figure out how I've been a gamer for 20 years and have never heard of it, but I'm making up for lost time! I've already sucked 3 of my friends into it (I took 4 armies on a father-son campout, and it was a complete hit). I've also signed up for the Amazon-sealed event at Gencon, so I'm stoked to try that out as well.
Two thoughts/suggestions:
-This game desperately needs a iOS app! Just like the dice browser here on the website would be great, with a picture and explanation of what the sides do (like chuckpint's website). Also the ability to army build! I've been playing games of all different point values over the last days, and having to re-think every time how to build an army is confusing.
-You guys should get coolstuffinc to carry your dice! I buy most of my gaming stuff from them, it would make it very easy to throw something in my cart as I was making another order.
You guys are awesome for saving this game from oblivion a few years back. I am so stoked to keep playing and trying it out. (My favorite is Undead so far). |

Always great to have an excited new player on board!
As to your suggestions:
1) An iOs app would be a great idea, but we simply don't have the manpower at present to pursue it. If someone with the expertise would care to take a stab at it, we'd certainly be willing to look into the prospect.
2) Unfortunately, we can't make anyone carry our products. They are available through all major distributors to companies like CoolStuff, so they can carry the items. Maybe if customers asked them to carry our products, it might have an impact... _________________ Steve "DDice" Braun

| As DDicer said, its a matter of time, skill, money, etc. What I COULD do is make a version of the Dice Browser in HTML5, then (in theory) any mobile device should be able to display it.

You guys are awesome for saving this game from oblivion a few years back. | I love to always point this out, but it's been close to 14 years. since SFR obtained the rights. Here's the email from Coolstuffinc, after placing an order and asking them about Dragon Diceā¢:
"Thanks for ordering with us. Unfortunately it looks like these dice are not available from any of our distributors. I apologize for any confusion and/or inconvenience this may have caused. We appreciate your business and look forward to any future orders you may place."

{insert bad words here} They did not even try. Our products are carried by all gaming distributors. I see they will be at GenCon. I will try and go by their booth and let them know the error of their ways....
Just went to their website. Sent off an email informing them they are wrong.... I'll post whatever their answer is. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

I've been told this before as well, though not by Coolstuffinc. Basically what happens is that Coolstuff most likely looked at their distributors list online and if they found any listings for Dragon Diceā¢, and guarenteed they did, they were listed as out of stock. What Coolstuffinc needs to do is tell the Distributor themselves to order more stock from SFR. Though... people tend to be lazy, and that is a true disappointment.
The store that i work at here in Newfoundland could get some as well... provided LionRampant would actually care to order more stock. And that's not always the easiest thing to do. If i handled the orders myself i would just consistantly ask them about reordering stock. But that is taken care of by the store owner directly, who deals with an assigned Rep, so it's out of my control.
Though, you could always order straight from the store from SFR. _________________ Proceed on your way to oblivion... |
