|
|
Hello,
I bought 10 Dragon Dice⢠kicker pack 1's.
I got commons (units), uncommons (units), and monsters of
Coral elves, 7, 5, 1
Lava Elves, 2, 4, 2
Goblins, 4, 6, 2
I got commons, Rares (units) and monsters of
Amazons, 16, 10, 2
And I got commons, and monsters of
Dwarves. 11, 3
Now I want to throw a few games against myself. 2 armies. But the rules are unclear to me as to what I should buy, and how I make my army(s).
Suppose I want to make 2 armies.
Can I include coral elves into a dwarf army? (not covered in the rules)
If I can only make armies out of one race (let's say dwarf).... can I include:
Dragons of any color(s)
Dragonkin of any color(s)?
DragonCrusader
Dragonhunter
Dragonkin Champion
DragonLord
Dragonmaster
Dragonslayer
DragonZealot
I want to make 3 or 4 armies.
Coral Elves, Lava Elves, Dwarves, and amazons.
What do I need to buy and in what minimum amount to build me these four armies?
I don't want to overspend on this game, so anything above 120 bucks I will be feeling less comfy about . It's for fun, even though I am a collector in heart. But for now I need 4 armies that can battle eachother. So I need to buy stuff.... battlefields, artifacts, and slightly more troops of one or the other. So I think I won't buy the complete dragon set, just the colors of my armies.
Can anybody tell me what kickers/boosters/solo dice to buy, and why?
Thanks in advance. |

If the only thing you have bought is kickers, you won't be able to play. You also don't have the complete rules from just the kickers. You need terrains (you can get some of them from the Battlefields expansion) and dragons (you can get those from Dragons!). What you need are starters. Those have both terrains and dragons (as well as the full rules).
You can download the full rules from our website. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Hello,
I already downloaded the rules.
But even with them in my hand I still don't know how to build my army.
See my list above. The rules don't say what I can put in my Dwarven army.
Elves?
Dragonkin?
Masters? Slayers? |

But I don't wanna play these races.
So..... I need to know
I only start buying if I know what I need.
I don't like paying postage twice or more times because I am missing something, and I don't have a money tree too. |

The rules don't tell you what races to put into an army, because you can put any race into an army. You can have all one race, two races, three races, etc. Take a look at the topic "On-Line Games"
http://sfr-inc.com/bb/viewforum.php?f=29
You'll see a number of different ways to put together an army. The rules do take you though the steps to start a game.
1. Decide total force size
2. Assemble armies
3. Set the battlefield
4. Determine order of play
5. Place armies
6. Determine starting distances
Find those sections in the rules and follow that, and you should get how to get started.
Also note that while dragonkin are a race, they are not a race that can be part of your starting army. See the section on dragonkin in the Advanced Rules part of the rules. Dragons are never part of an army. See under Basic Terms: Summoning Pool.
As for the amount of dice, it's really up to you. Standard army size is 36 health. Most likely you have enough health to make 3 or 4 armies of that size. So you need terrains and dragons. You can get those from our store, just not the basic terrains, those are only in starters. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Ok, thank you.
So a dwarf/elf mixed army is a normal posibility then?
I was digging into the rules but could not say it was or wasn't an option.
One small sentence 'Mixing races in one army is possible' would have been nice. Now I was lost between wood and rock
But now I got an idea what to buy, thanks. |

Ok, we decided to put up on our store a set of just basic terrains and dragons. So you can make your own starter by buying that and a few kickers.

Thanks for opting that for buyers.
I bought
2 x Starter Terrains and Dragons
2 x Dwarf
1 x Lava Elf
2 x Dragonkin Expansion (dice only)
2 x Battle Chest
The porto, tax and customs almost doubles the price/die
Good thing it's dollars. Doesn't make my euro pocket hurt so much,
I hope there is some trading possible in Holland. International shipping one die is criminal
I got 5 War Drivers, 2 Harbringers, 2 War Chiefs, one Spearer, a whole bunch of commons and no Amazon uncommons. Is it normal to not hit any uncommons with 10 of these kickers?
Of the Lava Elves and Dwarves I also didn't hit any rares, and also no uncommons of the dwarves.
I hope my order gives me some kind hits . I will be missing out on any Amazone uncommons anyway...
But at least I can pit Amazons against Dwarves/Lava elves in a few weeks.
I hope it's a fun game. I like throwing dice.
(I play(ed) Conan the board game, Arkham Horror, and Star Wars TCG, and I got 2 bags of Cookie Fu. All use dice.
And Shogun (kinda like Axes And allies) too -You throw you armies units into a tower, and what comes out is who wins, really weird and fun- ) |

As for trading, post something up in our forum on trading. Make sure you point out your location. I'm pretty sure there are some player/collectors not too far from you.
Take a look at this topics about Amazons:

Just to help make it clear: Dragon Dice⢠kicker pack 1 is a product that TSR put out almost 20 years ago. We are SFR and while the dice are all still equally compatible with the game, we were not involved with that product or how it was put together. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

Wow, I remember those! That kicker made the odds of getting a particular die absolutely atrocious. It boggles my mind that my brother managed to get a Beholder from one of those- but that kicker's odd distribution is the reason why I have yet to own a single Rare Amazon. |

So order the Amazon kicker from SFR. You will get an Amazon rare in every kicker! _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Yeah, I plan on it, eventually. I've only recently begun buying Dragon Diceā¢- before six months ago, I had purposely been keeping myself from spending money on Dragon Diceā¢, for... some reason. All of my dice from before that are either dice I still had from 1996, or dice I got from a Beholder trade. (That beholder let me practically double the number of dice I owned.) Since then, I've only bought a select few things (two Undead vs. Feral starters, a full set of Eldarim Champions, and as of a few days ago, a Feral, Treefolk, and Scalder kicker). Right now I'm trying to decide whether to splurge on a lot I saw on Ebay... |
