It is here! or will be on Monday! So I've put it online for you to order.
If you prefer the winter to the summer, then this is the mat for you!
Officially we are calling this the 'air' mat, but I think it would work perfectly for someone who played all Frostwings... _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

I'm only just now realizing this, but it's slightly odd that the reserves is so much closer to the horde than it is to the home. It would seem difficult o position your reserves so close to the enemy in a battle.
Regardless, I still love these and hope to own one of each someday. _________________ Collection |

Dolus, I am under the impression that the reserves were placed where they are for a couple of reasons. One is so newer players don't confuse the reserves for dead, buried, or summoning pool units. The other reason may have to do with preventing cheating. If the reserves were close to the dead unit are, then a person of lower morals might be able to cheat some units into reserves that were supposed to go to the dead area. Both of these reasons are just my opinion though. |

I understand the practical reasons. I'm just commenting on the thematic reasons and how funny it is. I wouldn't change the maps at all. _________________ Collection |

I am really liking these new PlayMats and the Rulebooks! It keeps things fresh.
Me and my sons, aged 8 and 10 just played our first multiplayer game earlier. Boy was that an enlightening moment! I realized then and there that the best way to manage the work area is with coasters!
Or so I thought.
After our game I had an enlightening moment involving a PlayMat good for two players, aided with coasters for the Horde Armies. The more players you have - the more coasters you'll need! Your Home Army and Campaign Army can take a permanent seat on the PlayMat though. It's the Horde Army that can be split up between multiple other players' home terrain... or am I reading this wrong? |

I think you read something wrong.
At the start of the game you have three armies, none of them are split during army placement.
1)Your home army is placed at your home terrain. These is only one option here.
2)Your horde army is placed at an opponents terrain. There is (#ofPlayers-1) options here.
3)Your campaign army is placed at any other terrain where you don't have an army. There is (#ofPlayers-1) options here.
but those three armies are placed as a whole. not split.
does that help? _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99

Fire is being developed right now. I got a first draft and have provided feedback to the artist to redo a few things. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

Yup, that's how we did it, here's how we set our initial armies (I'll use my sons Victor and Francis in this example):
Me:
1.) My Home Terrain (my home army)
2.) Frontier Terrain (my campaign army)
3.) Francis' Home Terrain (my horde army)
Francis:
1.) his Home Terrain (Francis' home army)
2.) Frontier Terrain (Francis' campaign army)
3.) My Home Terrain (Francis' horde army)
Victor:
1.) his Home Terrain (Victor's home army)
2.) Frontier Terrain (Victor's campaign army)
3.) Francis' Home Terrain (Victor's horde army)
In the setup we have 4 Terrains in total. Victor was able to move his Home Terrain die because neither mine nor Francis' horde armies were there. Meanwhile Francis was entertaining both our horde armies at his Home Terrain, while Francis' horde army was camped outside my Home Terrain. Everyone has their Campaign army at the Frontier and their Home Army at their Home Terrain.
I hope I'm getting this correct so far !
Now, is it possible to develop a 2nd Horde Army by moving units back to the Reserve area at the end of the first turn and then moving these units to the other player's Home Terrain at the end of the second turn? |

Cliff, part of this thread should probably be moved to the rules section, if that is possible _________________ Duct tape is like the Force: it has a light side and a dark side, and it holds the universe together
