Actually there is only one trick here. Knowing all the rules.....

But 64 and 91 are the same.

Dan's right...
It's just a Trick 64 bonus.

reference to vortex, group monsters.

and coining the phrase "Bank"
however, banking could run into trouble if you path a unit away...

anyways...
I'll use Chuck's bonus as the new trick.

92nd: Volcanic Eruption/Tidal Wave "Krakatoa!!!!"

It has been discovered that you can (optional)
combine the powers of these two spells.

So 16 damage and 16 maneuver avoidance

Since there are 3 red lands now....

Call Water (adds green)
poses a new threat.

It should be noted that this combo was always available,
but with the intervention of the Feylands,
it became all too obvious.

Evil Bonus: 92nd:

Ultra 8th face Buster: Flash Flood/Volcanic Eruption/Tidal wave /Blue Breath

Note: take the Flash Flood First if a Blue breath,
that will take away double saves... Wink

The terrain is at 5 now!

and throw in some Jalapeño Dragons (Scalders)
and ashstorms... and even Wall of Fog for even more havoc!!!

Evil or Very Mad

"Dragonkin Eraser" cannot be used in the same magic action. Note that the spell is "Multiple castings target multiple armies". So in a single magic action this spell can only be cast once per army. It does not matter what color dragonkin or color of magic. The spell cannot be combined on the same army in the same magic action.

Keep in mind that you cannot cast Call Water and Tidal Wave during the same magic action on the same non-green terrain (If your opponent does, complain): First you have to wait until Call Water is resolved, then you can announce a Tidal Wave. Since all spells have to be announced at the same time you will probably have to wait one round (and your opponent will very likely maneuver the terrain to remove the Call Water). Note also that Tidal Wave removes the Call Water if the terrain is turned down, so it has to be cast again.
The same for Create Mountain cast on a Swampland which is even weaker. It is not so easy to use this.

It's better to strike out text (strike through) than erase a comment completely - that way people still see what is being referenced by Chucks comment. Often times this leads to a better understanding of the rules for me (and, I presume, others).

Striking is done via bracket s bracket [ s ] (remove spaces)

I have used the strike-thru many times,
but I feel sometimes,
it's just better to eliminate a thought,
especially if corrected by Chuck.

let's just say my heart was a bit crushed to find out I was wrong,
dragonkin eraser,
so sometimes I erase from my memory things that hurt me in life,
so the forum is no different.

93rd: Leaving/Backlash JoJo

This is probably a very tricky thing to pull off, but the rewards could be huge.

Setting: battlfest, most likely.
Ingredients:
- cantrips that produce feral magic
- treefolk magic
- an army full of casters occupying a magic face.
- 1 unit at a different terrain than your casters, preferablyoccupying a magic face.
- a dragon.

The plan is to get your cantrip-producing mages attacked by a dragon at the start of your turn. Cantrips should come up, casting backlash at your own terrain. Now take a magic action at that very same terrain. Cast leaving, hide/camouflage once and anything else you can afford after that. Preferably, you will be casting so much that your entire army dies do the ensuing backlash - save for the hidden/camouflaged unit. Due to leaving being active, all your casters are transported to the other terrain, where they once again get a full round of casting. If you cast another backlash during the first round of casting, you'll even end up where you started as well.
The combination is janky and requires a very specific situation, but I'd love to pull it off one day.

I am gonna add something if thats cool. I asked about this one to be sure, and it works.

If your rolling in melee and you have a rare dragonkin roll its breath and an eldarim roll its cantrip...... You as the player choose the order of SAI's delivered. Use the rare kins breath to kill 3 enemy units, then promote the rare to a DK Champion with the cantrip, and then roll that Champ for more melee results.

95th: Grove/Frostwing Negation/Dancing Lights

With the added Grove,
John's Battlefest army just turned it up a few notches.Twisted Evil

This is John Koslow's design for battlefest.
It's literally horrifying if he gets one, or even two terrains at magic.

The magic negation makes you move away to the frontier,
but then you can't double magic...
so then more negation in a sense...
and anywhere you go Dancing lights can follow.

Sneak attack is a nice counter,
or getting a minor into play to force a melee attack .

If you don't get something going fast,
you'll be decimated.

I skimmed through and did not see this one already, which I learned from Dr. Oliver Cross.

Get a flatland bridge and on a flatland missile icon call it in for some amazons. It has a 3 in 8 chance of getting double maneuvers, which is good enough to do the dmg. of amazons on the 8th face. Furthermore, the disaster is a maneuver avoidance and if your using amazon calv, which you should be, your units are way more likely to survive.

Amazons and Bridges has been around for some time,
but the insight of surviving the disaster makes this a good trick.

Quote:
Scorching Touch: Scalders, when rolling for saves during the attack phase of a melee action, generate one point of
damage for each non-ID save result back against the attacking army. Only magical saves protect against this damage.

Quote:
Counter: Normal (melee, save, and dragon attack); Special and Normal (save
against melee attack)
During a melee attack or melee avoidance roll, Counter generates melee results.
During a save roll, Counter generates save results. During a save roll in a melee
attack, Counter immediately generates both save results and melee results upon the
attacking army or unit. Only magical saves protect against this damage. During a
dragon attack, Counter generates save and melee results.

This seems to be a proven winner against the scalder's scorching touch.

I might add too...
here is a case where a spell does affect an SAI.

So its good enough to point out.

No its not. Spells cannot affect SAIs. Counter does damage to the army, and spells (like Wall of Ice) give the army save results against the damage inflicted. The damage itself was never altered.
