Actually, my friend open a starter undead/feral about 2 or 3 weeks ago and got a mis print sunflare. All the faces and icons of a sunflare, just in UnDead print the thing was sick looking.

such a thing should not exist, but considering I've seen dice from one game end up in the packaging for another game... I can believe anything.

This would be considered a production error and not legal for DragonDice tournaments (but is exactly the type of thing I collect) I would be happy to compensate your friend and give him a tournament legal die. Have him contact me if he's interested.

Us here in Portland dont really worry about tourny legal stuff, its all gentlemen games round' these parts. But youll be happy to hear that it ended up in good hands. That guy who got it traded it to his brother for god knows what. Then his brother traded it to DTWalkex for ~400 chuck pts. in lava elves maybe more, which by the way DT got from me for the equivelent in goblins. Any who DT traded it to DProman for a list of insanity the DPRoman was glad to do. Youll need to take your dealings up with him.

Not that my word means ANYTHING but I was right there and watched him open that package and out it came. To be honest he was willing to trade it to me for just a Minor Death but I told him to first check its value and if I was less a moral man I woulda taken it.

Thanks, now I know who to bully into giving me the die....

Dave, be glad you aren't coming to gencon Twisted Evil

As a representative of SFR, I hope this is an isolated incident and we don' t start having lots of these show up.

An undead starter has two poly bags and a few loose dice. Do you recall if this die came from one of the polybags or was a loose die?

Definately bagged. The dude was new and even asked me what the heck the icons were as they were not on the list. I explained that it was a misprint. Just in case your next question maybe was it in the UD or Feral bag, it was in the UD, though maybe you assumed that.

Will

EDIT: I think his brother is on these forums, not sure. If your curious at all as to what he paid for it.

that atleast tells me WHEN the error happened and that I can't complain because it was so long ago.

Those polybags were sealed... a while ago. so this is a TSR error rather than an SFR one. We just repackaged them into starters.

I am sad to think how long that die was in my possession (in the warehouse), but who would've thought to go through thousands of polybags looking for one wrong die in one of them?

I assumed thats what it was, the bagt I mean. You guys just yanked their "Kickers" and through them into starters, added a couple to make 18 pts.

That looks cool. Its really my favorite coloring of all the races, so I think any icons look pretty bad ass. Cool

That is a scan of the die owned by Chuck.

If I know the history correctly... Lester originally had these made to test different plastics on how the undead should look. Years later, he sold these prototypes on ebay and Chuck snatched them up (I was too poor at the time to get any)

Apparently...(here I'm guessing) there were more made at the factory which weren't sent to TSR and weren't destroyed. Once they got around to printing the Undead production run some helpful employee found this prototype and threw it into the tumbler with dice which to them looked identical.

That is the only way we can explain the dragonkin which showed up in the demon dice polybag as well. A single die in thousands of boxes which shouldn't exist.

I don't have an undead firewalker, Chuck does.

I have a bunch of Scalder conscripts.

Ethically speaking your hands are tied even if you had thought of it - to let yourself search what to others is sealed product ... See what I mean?

Of course you could say it's for quality control but it's a little hollow- nobody ever complains about getting a $100+ die, tournament legal or not :)

Sadly Quality control has to be more important than that. In this case it was discovered by a player near others who knew what it was.

had it been discovered by itself, then that player would've had a negative impression of the company for it.

Similar to the old no headed goblins. that just looked bad on TSR and was a lot more common.

BTW - please understand that I have two collections. my personal collection is in my closet. the SFR collection stays in the warehouse. Never shall the two mix.

So if I'd seen it, much as it would've hurt me personally. I would've put it into the SFR tournament dice pile and then choosen it as a prize were I lucky enough to win it 'legally'.
