Sorry, thats not correct.
Jens plays an own set of rules, where you may play any number of dice in one race, plus any magic items.

Ops, didn't read well all the thread...

Sorry to be misleading, my bad.

@ dutchjohn

What a pity....

@ Technosnurf

Sure, i can. I run tournaments in a way i exspect to reach as many players as possible. The decision to run a single race format this year is result of a clear voting of the players participating last year.
To most of them the Fluff factor and the identification with their army is important (for me too).
But the main reason is to keep barriers for people interested in DD or beginners low. And the normal state is that the were overwhelmed by the complexy of the rule book. The basic game mechanisms are easy, but if you don´t have someone who teaches it to you, it can be frustrating. A lot of people leave DD at this point.
At the NordCon a lot of visitors will enter the playing room. It ´s much easier to say them " This is a dwarf army" than "This is an army with trolls from the goblins, fireshadows from the firewalkers, suported by magical items and a medallion and lead by a Dragonlord". They would leave the room at once, thinking we were crazy.
The single race format offers enough opportunities, more than most of the players use yet.
And my personal experience is, that to a real DD fanatic the format isn´t the most important thing. They (we) go to DD-tournaments to have a lot of fun, meet likeminded, have close and challenging matches and discuss about tactics afterwards, harden about dice rolls and have a cold beer together. And this objects we manage to put into effect in the past....

Next saturday i will try to post the results of the championships here live from the event.

Players from all over germany will come to go for the title. I exspect a lot of pulsating and close matches.

Thanks to SFR for the awesome price support (prototypes, coloured inks, rare monsters) !!!!

Cool!
Any chance to have video coverage for the events? Even non-professional videos will be very cool for the internet people.

Good luck!

It's not that I can't come it's more that I am not in europe at that time. I have to give a training in the US at that time. I actually had the misses ready for a long weekend. Sad

Where in the US, and when exactly? Perhaps you can squeeze in a little Dragon Diceâ„¢™ over here!

I am in Houston today in a district that only has hospitals and a university.
will be here till saturday afternoon and fly home in the evening.

any options?

can I borrow an army if there are options

You better write a pm to Chuckpint to ensure he gets your message.
I don't know how often he looks here....
@ Danilo

Thanks for the good wishes. This year it would exceed our manpower, but it is a good idea for the future. You will get a lot of pictures.

if you have a tripod, place a camera on it, and record the tables when playing.

the only human interventions will be watching the camera to not get stolen + start/stop the records each time.

To my eyes even non-edited videos will be useful for the game itself.

My experience is that I often go searching videos for the games I play (e.g. MTG, Warhammer invasion, ...) it's cool to watch people play, it also makes you want playing. For people who haven't played the game yet or that are starting playing, it's a great fuel for their.... itches Wink

Not much I can do with Houston, I'm near Chicago, quite a distance away.

Congratulations Claas with the victory!

Now, of course, the big question is: how many Fireshadows and Trolls were there in the top 3...?

@ DealFforFunky
If i remember correctly, both Firewalker
Players had three Fireshadows, Tobias had two trolls. I think
, that are the most used numbers.

Interesting that the old races are still competitive. I tested Scalders before the tournament, but i found that they depend too strong to the starting distances of The Terrain dice. If these aren't fine, you are in big trouble fast. So i won with them, but i see no chance of
winning four or five matches in a row to win a tourney with them.

The tournament had a relaxed and sportman-like athmosphere, thanks for that to the players. We were a good mix of veterans knowing Lether Smith personally and new players, where i was surprised, how strong they have performed. The games were close and exciting, some have turned unexspected (it is a dice game....).

The prize for the best newcomer, a brandnew army, was won by Claas too.

Photos of the event and gaming situations will follow within the next days.

Short summary:
personal:
It was my first Dragon Diceâ„¢ tournament.
5th place, I do just fine Smile.

organization:
smooth gameplay
good time management

other players:
pleasant, almost familar atmosphere
with a lot of patience for me (I'm a noob, remember;))

Suggestions for improvement:
Certificates for the top 3 places, does not make a lot of work and it's a nice reminder (do not get me wrong, the prices were great for the top 3)
Something like the wooden spoon (Blood Bowl) for the last
You see, there is only little things to improve
