oh I just remembered my open grave spell. Wouldn't that save my 2 wolf packs from dying? instead sending them to the reserve area?

Open Grave only saves units that were killed because of damage an army takes. Anything that kills individual units, it does not save. Plague targets units, not armies. So those Wolf Packs are dead....

ok, hmm... what to do...

First march: I will roll for magic with my army at the frontier.
Magic result:
Black dragon staff - summon dragon icon - I will summon the black/gold wyrm to your home terrain. Re-roll and magic icon = 4
Leopard rider - ID = 3
Hedge mage - ID = 2
Hedge mage - 2 magic icon = 2
Wolf Rider - ID = 2
Trickster #1 - 2 magic icon = 2
Trickster #2 - 1 magic icon = 1
Trickster #3 - 1 magic icon =1
Hound rider - ID = 1
Total = 18 (no doubling by any means at Groves right?)

okay, keep on eye on me, make sure I don't mess this up..

I will cast - Finger of Death X3 killing one of your infernos

Finger of Death Casting Cost: 4 Spell List: Basic
Target any enemy unit. Immediately inflict one point of damage to the target unit with no save possible. Multiple castings increase the effect or target another unit.

Then I will cast Open grave again on my army.

OK dragon will kill the other inferno.

roll against dragon:

Bronze Medallion: 4 Flurry + 4 Flurry + 4 Sortie
Fireshadow: Create Fireminions
Fireshadow: 4 Counter

total of 12 melee damage back to the dragon, it's slayed.

On the dragon breath, you must kill 5 health or as much as possible without going over 5. Since your army has a 3-health and 2 4-health units, the most you can take is 4. So you have to kill a Fireshadow and leave the Inferno.

Also, the hybrid dragon only kills 5 health, but both breaths' army effects are in place. For a black/gold dragon that means that IDs don't work and maneuvers are halved.

Oh okay, guess it probably would have ended up the same anyway.
So the Fireshadow would have been killed by the Dragon, and the Inferno would be alive.

Danilo, did you want to go back and roll the Inferno and Fireshadow instead of the 2 Fireshadows?

Nope, got to go all the way to the dragon attack. It's going to be harder to kill the dragon with only one Fireshadow. So the dragon may still be there.

ops- again, I forgot I've slayed the dragon.... Sorry men, I wasn't paying enough attention.
