ok, so saving against the dragon...

Roc - 4 Fly
Troll - 4 Maneuver
Medusa - 4 Melee
Phoenix - 4 Smite
Minor Death - 4 Save
Remorhaz - 1 Swallow


Fly and Save's give me 8, so no damage.

Smite and melee only give me 8, so the dragon survives.

First march at the frontier-

Unopposed manuever up to the 8th face.

Sorry for the delayed response. I was intently making some PnP (print and play) board games... if you haven't seen the solotaire games made by Todd Sanders, they are interesting. I made 8 of his games in the last few days. Still working on a big one called Magic Realm(not a Todd game)... still have quite a bit left to do though, big game.

First March: I will maneuver the terrain up at my home terrain.
It is now 2 missile.

I will try a missile action with that army aimed at your army at the frontier...
Missile result:
Salamander - ID = 4
Genie - ID = 4
Ettercap - Bullseye - aimed at your Minor Death

Total = 8 (+4 against the Minor Death)

Second March: With my army at your home terrain I will try to maneuver

The only issue I see is that your home is visually at a 3 and should be a four.

I figured you would either try to run both terrains up or make it a melee battle.

A violent bloody end is probably the better choice, but you know I can't make it easy for you.

Hehe, I don't expect to survive, but it will certainly make for a better ending. It will go down in the songs and legends of the monsters of Esfah. For generations to come the monster's descendants will tell the story of the last stand at the vortex.

Sorry I haven't taken my turn yet. I've been very busy at work and no time to play.

However, I will let you that I stand at a crossroads. I could be aggressive and fight and I might have more units than you and I might survive. I could also be passive and it'll be a slower game, but much less risk. Almost no risk of losing.

I've decided that I'm just going to be agressive. However, let me describe how I would see a passive game going.

On my current turn, I would turn my home to 7 and probably missile you. I wouldn't do as much damage as a melee attack, but I would have no risk of being damaged. I would then abandon this 8th face by terrain flight to my home or to the reserves. That would leave us both on a 7th face.

If you captured the frontier, then you would have to stay there to hold it and I can do more missile damage than you can do missile or magic(dragon). If you split your army, then I kill half of it that much faster. If you decided to abandon the frontier and leave it at a 7, then I either path to it and win or I can terrain flight back to it and we continue until I eventually capture two 8ths. i.e. we would do a lot of feints and maneuver rolls, but little actual combat. If you tried to turn the terrain die down, then I am still able to missile you while you do. Eventually it would be low enough that I would have to stand up to a melee fight at whatever 8th I had and you would have even fewer units.

BUT that is a very passive way to play and not very fun or enjoyable for you.

So we do the big bloody battle instead.

First march at my home
Uncontested turn to 7th.

Second march at the frontier
At this point I could just do nothing, in which case you would get one melee roll against me to kill all my units. if you didn't, then I hold the 8th at the frontier and I turn uncontested at my home. If you terrain flight some units to it, then so do I and we have a maneuver battle.

However, this game is designed to favor the bold and being able to attack first is a HUGE advantage. So I will melee you (as you wish).

sometimes i hate my dice, like now. The medusa's and minor death just fell asleep instead of doing their jobs.
