Hi all, lots of great stuff here.

I'm a gamer who has tried for many, many years to understand Dragon Diceâ„¢! Finally, I got enough time at one time to piece it all together (I think Very Happy).

While the game in the end is not that complex, there is a daunting learning curve. (But the dice ... how can one resist?)

I collected a bunch of dice, a battle box, a set of rules or three and checked out some You Tube videos. (There were a few great ones there but hard to find.)

Because the game is in low circulation Sad I plan to draw more players in on game night at my local store (fingers crossed).

To do that, I wanted to collect the player aids to get the best response. (No doubt we'll be digging for rules and the rule book is tough in places.)

It would be very helpful if the most useful items were "sticky" tagged in the various forums. Things like the place mats (a must have) and spell cards or sheets. (Also very useful for today's gamers.)

I found very neat items (Thanks Cat and Matt, great work!) But, it was a bit of a challenge to wade through the normal forum chat (which I like but is a distraction). Plus, it wasn't clear if those were the most up to date versions.

Again, thanks for the great help!

If you're starting new players, have them get a new starter set. These sets include two play mats, and only have the rules for the two races in the box so you have limited, easy-to-access spell lists and SAI lists. The new starters are more expensive than the old ones, but include more dice (30 health armies for each race, 4 terrains, 4 dragons), plus the playmats and starter rule book, which is much less intimidating than the tome we dropped on you in the old starters. Smile

Joe, very glad to hear that you want to try to evangelize the game to new players and get them all addic... I mean interested as well.

I could try to point out the places where I feel those things are linked, but obviously you didn't find them, so they are not highlighted enough.

This weekend I also recently discovered that the older stuff was easier to find than the newer stuff. I'm tempted to go through the forum and remove the threads with out of date play aides to prevent newer players from being confused by them.

Would that be uncalled for?

I think archiving some of the older stuff might be a good idea at this point. While we still will have the issue of boardgamegeek at least the forum and site linked to the Facebook page will be more up to date

We will be archiving a lot of the forums when the version 3 rules come out. Just like we archived a lot of the forum when version 2 rules came out.

As much as I love MissTiffany's (and everyone elses) play mats for teaching, as the rules change more and more they are out of date enough that they need to be retired in preference for the newer mats and racial sheets.
