First march:
Roll for magic: 1 ID doubles to 2, 3, 2, 2, 1 = 10

Well, I'll summon a dragon to the frontier to keep your guys busy, and because I always have to summon a dragon. I'll summon the wyrm.

With the remaining 3 magic I will summon a 1hp dragonkin.

Last I will move all my reserve dudes to the frontier and hope the dragon doesn't kill them later.

the first thing that happens in my spells expire and then the dragon attacks me.

My dkin does not match colors with the dragon, so he is allowed to roll against it.

opps, I forgot to say that there are 12 melee to save against.

ok, rolled the maneuver and lost. Terrain goes up to 8.

Rolled to save: 4 saves, take 8 damage..

counter attack - ID 3 melee..

EOT or going to move some folks around?

Was that counter attack before or after the -3 from my wither?

either way my save roll is:
Mummy - 3 Melee
Mummy - 3 Wither
Wight - 2 Melee
Wight - 2 Melee
Wight - 2 Save
Wight - 3 Melee
Zombie - 1 ID
Zombie - 1 ID
Zombie - 1 Melee
Death Dragonfoal - 1 ID

so 5 saves prevents it.

Since I killed a significant portion and got the 8th face, I'll reinforce the zombie to my home and all the mages to the frontier (leaving the reserves empty)

that will end my turn.

Okay, think I got all that correct...

First march: at my home
Magic roll - 5 total..
Did roll the TSR on the medallion though, so bring back 2 sergeants.

Then cast dancing lights on your army at the frontier.

Move the sergeants and all from frontier to reserve.

ha, that's what I get for playing the super champion of Dragon Diceā„¢.. looks like I'm getting my behind handed to me.
Any hints? Would be good to learn some moves from a master.

First march:
Magic roll: 4 cantrip, 3 magic, 1, and 1 magic = 9

Hmm.. I will cast summon dragon.. man I can't help it, and place it at the frontier. The same wyrm as last time.

Then cast ash storm with the remaining 2.

Then put the reserve army to your home terrain.

Thank you for the complement, but there are many people who can regularly beat the pants off me. They just don't play online very often.

I'm preparing to face them at Gencon this week and if I can tie them I feel good about myself.

There are a few concepts that I follow and I always try to assume you will respond in the strongest way. nothing you do should surprise me, unless it is what I would consider a mistake. My failing as a player is that I tend to trust the luck of the roll too much and I go for a quick win instead of a slower methodical win.

As much as I hate to admit it, having a pooled army is strong in a lot of ways. especially this army that is half magic and can cast unit targeting spells.

normally I wait until after I win to tell someone their mistakes (because it helps them beat everyone else in a tournament, which helps me). The thing you did not do which I feared you would. On your first turn, a dragon against my frontier could have been bad. If it has killed all those units I would have been a turn behind on getting the 8th face as I could not have done an unopposed maneuver. That is why I left the zombie at your home. I was hoping you'd kill it so I could have a step damage to keep a unit there. The other thing is that you have a unit targeting spell as well, which Open grave would not protect against. I expected you to pick off my units with that.

Also, I put that zombie at my home as a way to force you to keep your army split. I target your mages first because it will take you 5 turns to get my home to the 8th and I can FoD your mages to death by then and you will have no more recovery. Smile


It is now my turn, so the temple will have you bury one of your units and then roll the dragon against me and then I'll kill some more of your mages.

How did Gencon go? Was watching some videos from Gencon, reminded me I never replied to this last message.

Yeah, we can call it.

Preoccupied painting up minis. Recently got into Frostgrave and Warmachine, Hordes. Been ages since I played miniature wargames. Built/painted a whole table with tons of terrain and painted over 30 minis.. keeping myself busy.

I might hold off on the next game for a little while, I'll let you know when I'm good to go though. Thanks.
