OK, I suggested this somewhere in another post. Let's play Dragon Diceâ„¢ in the forum!
In this thread I try to set up a two player game. I play Undead.
Setup: single race, 36hp, max. 50% of total health are magicians, 4 minor terrains and 12hp worth of Dragonkin are allowed, no artefacts, no magic items, no promos like Dragon Hunters, - Lords, -Masters, DKCs, King's Dice etc...!

Who wants to join the game?

We'll play it day-wise, i.e. every player gets one turn (=two marches plus reserve march) per day. Well, every player would have to be patient, but it could be fun anyway!?

If you want to join the game, let me know, set up your army, devide it into the three armies as requested by the rules to begin the game and tell me when you're ready to post your setup. No changes are allowed once a player has posted his setup (pretending to have a Dragon Shield here Wink ). I'll post my setup first, then it's your turn.

I will follow the game by placing the dice you play on my table at home (maybe I'll need a little time to write little pieces of paper for the dice I don't have at home), and I suggest you do the same, that makes it easier to follow what's going on. After our turns on one day the terrain dice (home/frontier/opponent's home) and reserves, DUAs, BUAs and summoning pools go into a separate box each, together with all dice, spellcards etc so that we have the same setup for the next day to continue.
There-fore we will have to name each die removed, summoned, taken as casualties etc...

I'd really like to find out if this works!
Maybe we will just skip the one-turn-per-day rule and simply post our next action when we have the time to do so!? Rolling Eyes
We can decide that later! Depends on each player, so we'll find a way!

OK! Now it's your turn, Folks! Who's takin' the challenge???????????????

BTW! Every player who wants to open his own game (2, 3 or 4 players) please start a new thread, name the rules (how many players, total hp, allowed dice etc...) and off you go!!!!Razz

Chuck, feel free to make a "Forum Games" topic if you like, and move this game there.

LET'S GO, FOLKS!!!!! Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz

I think this could work. It would just be a somewhat longer version of what we do in the CWC anyway-and you wouldn't need to block out a few hours to play.

Would you want detailed rolls posted or just summary results? For example, rolling six Pelters, would you prefer:

Pelter: 1 MI
Pelter: 1 MI
Pelter: ID
Pelter: 1 SV
Pelter: 1 SV
Pelter: 2 MI

OR:

Army (6 Pelters): 1 ID, 4 MI, 2 SV

?

I'll try to pull an army together for the challenge this week. You're playing UD? Sounds like my son's army...maybe time to pull out those Scalders again...

Hey Die(ter), I'll take your challenge! This sounds like an interesting experiment. I'll get an army together tomorrow morning and post a reply when I'm ready. Very Happy

Yes, it'll take much longer to complete a game but we can play it step by step with enough time in between to check rules and stuff (some beginners might need to do so), we can ignore the 8 or more hours of time difference between USA and Europe and simply post the following action when we have time to do so! This has lots of advantages especially for beginners!

DDiceRC wrote:

This would be fine! But we shouldn't use abreviations so that everybody can clearly follow what's happening. So this would be:
Army (6 Pelters): 1 ID, 4 Missiles, 2 Saves
Let's say you've rolled for saves in this one, in that case the other icons would be ignored (that would be 1 ID, 2 Saves = 3 Saves total).
Modifiers (e.g. like Goblins doubling Maneuvers in Swampland) should be explained, too.
Example: 1 ID (UC), 2 ID (C), 1 Rend SAI (Leopard Rider), 3 Maneuvers = 10 Maneuvers, doubled by Swampland = total 20 Maneuvers
(I think R/UC/C as abreviation for Rare/Uncommon/Common is known to everybody)

OK, it's a little more work for every player but it shows every step to new players and they can learn about rules, tactics, strategies etc.. just by reading.

I've never played against Scalders so far, that would be a new experience for me! Razz

On the other hand, I would have loved to tear those Coral Elves apart! Mr. Green .
I can't believe that they might be able to be victorious against Undead as a single race army! Rolling Eyes

I'm ready to go Die(ter)! I'll post my setup first, as I assume that you've already got an army ready. If you don't, then don't read the rest of this post until you have your army ready.

Firewalker army:
2 Blue Wyrms
2 Coastland Cities
Coastland Woods, Flatland Woods, Highland Woods, Swampland Woods
Dragonkin (all Blue): 3 Troops, Spy, 2 Scouts, Mount, 2 Foals

Home Army: Firestormer, 2 Firemasters, 4 Firestarters, 2 Sunflares, 2 Sunbursts

Campaign Army: Sunburst

Horde Army: Daybringer, Nightsbane, 4 Shadowchasers, 2 Sunflares, Sunburst, Fireshadow

I don't think I've ever played an all-Firewalker army before, so I'll see how they do.

Hi Brad!

I'm just about to take off for our band training this evening, but I'll be back in about four or five hours!

Here's my army: (unfortunately I've chosen Coastlands! Good for you, hee, hee!)

Home: Coastland Standing Stones
Frontier: Coastland Standing Stones
Minors: Coastland Bridge, Highland Woods, Flatland Woods, Swampland Village
Home Army: 1x Apparition
Campaign Army: 1x Minor Death (M), 2x Vampire (R), 2x Heucuva (UC), 1x Revenant (UC), 1x Apparition (C)
Horde Army: 1x Minor Death (M), 2x Vampire (R), 2x Spectre (UC), 2x Apparition (C), 2x Skeleton (C)
Dragons: 2x Black Wyrm
Dragonkin (all black): 1x Dragon Spy (R), 1x of each UC, 1x of each C

See ya!

Ok, time to roll the hordes. (roll roll). I got: Create Fireminions, 3 points of ID, and 4 points of maneuver for a total of 11 maneuver results. How did the Undead do?

OK, Brad, I'm back! Sorry 'bout the delay!
Armies are set up and divided, I've placed all your dice on the table (few of them represented by pieces of paper) and off we go!

Let's roll our hordes to see who's gonna be first or who's gonna choose the frontier terrain:

I rolled pretty bad! My horde got 0 (zero!) maneuvers!

You wanna go first or do you want to choose the frontier terrain?

Hey, no problem! I'm playing with Brad this game and you might build up another one in another thread!
I bet there are more players curious about this experiment!
If not (which I doubt!) then I'll go for your challenge, too!

I'll go first, which means you get to choose the frontier terrain. Since this is a two-player game, there is only one way to place our armies. That means that the next step is to roll the terrains. (roll). My home terrain rolled the 8th face. (reroll) My home terrain rolled face 4 (missile). After you choose the frontier, roll both you home terrain and the frontier. Then we'll be ready to start!

Sorry, it got a little late last night (yawn) Rolling Eyes

I choose your Coastland City as frontier terrain!

(Rolling Terrains: roll, roll Very Happy )
Frontier terrain starts at 3, missile and my home terrain shows 5, missile.

It's your turn to start. Since this is a two player game we will have no staggered start. You have 2 marches + reserve step.

Go ahead, make my day Wink Laughing

1st march at my home terrain. I am attempting to maneuver. Do you wish to counter-maneuver?

Nope, not good for you Very Happy ! I got a Vampire ID (=3) plus three maneuvers on a Spectre! That's 6 points of maneuver in total! Your maneuver failed!

Please go ahead...

Rolling frontier army for saves: 2 Vampire IDs (=2x3) + two saves from a Heucuva, that makes a total of 8 saves. I have two health worth of casualties and I choose to remove 1 Heucuva (UC) since I only have one common at that terrain.

1 Heucuva goes into my DUA.
