This idea has already been posted, but I was just so excited, I had to write something. Yesterday I went out and bought a huge tacklebox! (No more loose dice in a flimsy box that won't close). It has three large trays that snap close, and I bought a fourth, smaller one that fits on the side. They all have individual compartments. The large ones are each large enough to hold FOUR races. So between the three of them, I have all of the basic races taken care of. I used the smaller one for Dragonkin and ALL terrain (major and minor!). It then has two pull-out trays in the fron. One of these I used for Dragons, Promo Dice, Eldarim, and DKCs. The other I used for items, artifacts, abd medallions. There's enough room left over on the inside for a few odds and ends like dice bags and rules booklets, but sadly, I had to store my battlegrounds separately. It still has two compartments that pop out of the top...I don't know what to do with these yet...
I'm just so excited - I had to post!

Well, it depends on their size! Either there's room enough for two cans o' beer or you can take some pieces of chocolate with you! Playing Dragon Dice™ makes you hungry and thirsty! If you're one of the players who don't win most of the times, some Cleenex might also find their place in there! Wink Twisted Evil

As I live in the UK I have to import most of my dice from USA. The few large(ish) collections I have bought have been stored in purple dice bags with gold trim and the logo "Crown Royal".

As I now have 5 of these dice bags ( they must be very popular in USA), may I ask what the connection is between Crown Royal and Dragon Dice™?

I can only guess that perhaps these bags are for holding the KING dice?

Would anyone like to comment?

Crown Royal is a liquor that comes with the bottle in a cloth bag. People use those bags to hold all kinds of things later, including it seems, Dragon Dice™. There is no connection otherwise.

In terms of Dice storage, I use Plano tackle boxes (the biggest possible) for the permanent collection. For the extras, I use Workforce boxes that I get at Home Depot, one race per box.

Later,

Plano tackle boxes packed into a stand up suit case with wheels and extendable handle. The only time I have to lift the darn things in when I go up the stairs. Besides that, my dice move with me with little effort.

I have a 24"x36" wooden cabinet (top view) with 1.5" wide sliding drawers,
24 drawers total.
This was originally used for stained glass window creations,
it is absolutely perfect for creating armies and
storing the races individually.
The drawers slide open to choose the dice and you create the
army on the top.
The cabinet is 44" tall.
It's a Hamilton
I love it!!!!

And for other storage methods I use clear plastic deck holders designed for cards.
These are nice for archiving armies.

Originally my method of storing my dice (collection, not playable dice) was in the Promo Pack that was produced by TSR for demo purposes. (It originally had 2 starters and posters and winners certificates.) I cut strips of cardboard and divided the box into different areas for the races, terrains dragons and promo dice. This worked until the races outgrew the size of the box. Now the tacklebox method works best for me.

Hello all,

well now I keep my dice in a big box so every time I want to prepare an army of another race(s) I get to pick them out of there.

So this is not really a dice discussion but more of a dicekeeper discussion.

where do you keep your dice and give the pro's and con's please.

cheers,
John

I moved your question to a thread that was already around for storage questions. Please search the forum and see if your question has been already asked before starting a new topic.

And I just realized that I've never answered this. My storage is in two levels. First each race (except dragonkin), has a Zap storage container of it's own. All of those storage containers go into a wood cabinet in the "gaming" room (ok, it's a dining room, but it gets used more for gaming than anything else). In some cases, the races don't all fit into the Zap container. Those end up loose in a box. Or some are in a big plastic container which I use to hold up a Dragon Dice™ sign when we are at Games Plus! to play.

Dragonkin take two containers to hold them all. There's some room left over, so Eldarim champions and Kings' Die fill the rest. I also use some smaller tackle box type containers for some special stuff, like the misprints and prototypes.
