Posted: Tue Mar 11, 2008 9:22 pm GMT Post subject: A few hints about ordering |
|
|
Over the years Cliff and I have seen all kinds of weird things when people order here are a few hints.
1. If you and your husband/wife/sister/brother/cousin/roommate/life partner/whatever are both going to order dice, order together and save on shipping.
2. If you buy 4 of the 5 dice in a set as individual die total the cost and see if just buying a set is cheaper.
3. Spell your name and address correctly. Emphasis on name!
4. If you have any kind of special request, don’t just mark it in the order form. Send me an email as well.
5. If you want me to mail it to your husband/brother/father-in-law/girlfriend/boyfriend or next door neighbor to save on customs or shipping fees I need to know in more than one place.
6. If this is a gift and you want it by a certain date send me LOTS of emails to let me know.
7. If the item you are buying costs less than it does to ship it you need to buy more.
8. If you order dice and the next day think that you should of bought more (which we agree) and send in another order. Email me and I will refund the extra shipping.
9. If you think your dice are going to become unusable by rattling around a cardboard box let us know.
10. If you are one of those weird people who buy dice but never open the box and there fore want the box to be in pristine condition (btw never buy Magestorm if you are) let us know.
11. If you care if the box your almost indestructible dice comes in has a dent. Try to get over it if you can’t do that at least let me know.
12. If you do actually find a damaged dice please let us know we will be happy to replace it.
13. If you think by running over your junk dice with your car I will send you the ones you are missing in your set think again.
14. If you want me to search through 5000 loose dice to find that one extra rare variation that has been proven to exist (usually has to be proven by me but will take it on a case by case situation) You had better be REALLY nice and send me chocolate first.
15. If you buy “poly” or unboxed dice don’t ask me to look for something for you. I don’t look I just grab and toss and you get what you “get and don’t throw a fit”.
16. Understand I don’t get paid for this job. I am not a member of the board I don’t get stock shares. I have 4 kids, 6 cats, a guinea pig and currently have my house on the market. The shipping department has taken over my garage, backyard and I find at least 2 dice every time I vacuum or sweep my house. I devote hours to sorting, packaging, counting, arranging and moving dice. Be patient with me and my mistakes (there are many) I have friends who refuse to help us move dice anymore and I usually have to conscript my kids into the job. Be happy that your dice games are paid by unpaid slave child labor. (Not a sweat shop because I keep the air on)
17. If you are screaming in email to me 2 days after placing your order that it has not been mailed yet then you need to [Message edited by moderator]
18. And this one is actually important. If you have a bad mold allergy you might want me to open your boxes and just send the dice.
I hope these help.

Hi MissTiffany,
I just wanted to say that I am very grateful for all the help you, and all the other SFR members, have given me.
I think I can safely say that my orders have not been the easiest for you to get out of the door...
I promise to try and keep the weirdness level of my future orders down to a minimum.
Best regards,
Anset |

Just to add on to #16 above. I also made her drive 8 hours thru a blizzard to follow her husband with a truckload of dice. This drive is normally a bit under 2 hours. Yea, it was bad. So Tiffany, thanks again. I promise never to make you drive any dice in December again. Hopefully August won't be so bad?
Oh, and one other thing. If you are looking at #14 above, let me give you a hint. A LOT of chocolate. She can be bribed but she's not easy (to bribe! What are you thinking! ). _________________ You can never have too many dice.

I am sorry Chuck I have no memory of such a drive. Sounds horrific and I am sure if I did a drive like that I would block all memory of skidding from one side of the interstate to the other with my 4 children in the car with me. It would be really bad to be driving north one minute and facing south after crossing the median and 2 lanes of traffic the next.
Good thing it didn't happen to me.

What, with that great German beer you can get? Now while chocolate is great, a good heavy dark beer would have it beat any day. Even better are chocolate chip cookies and stout. Breakfast of champions. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

I could use a bunch of chocolate right now. Turns out the house I thought they had started to build in Georgia hasn't been started. They won't start until I tell them my house is sold so I will be homeless for 4 months and we will end up having to move all the dice into the new house ourselves which totally sucks. They can start today if I assure them that my house will sell in the next 120 days but I don't know if it will.
I was so sure this move was going to be great having a moving company do everything for me. *sigh* So now it will be Cliff and I with the kids moving all this solo since we don't know anyone in Georgia yet. Oh goodie! |

It just means we will get to move it an extra time. they can still move it for us from one state to another and then we make a single instate move. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

Wish it was Savanah in stead of Atlanta. Savanah is about 45 min from me, I'd help you move the dice. Atlanta is nearly 5 hours away though...

Sorry but your room in Yorkshire is a little out of the way.
And Savannah is only 287 miles! That would be worth the dice we would pay you for your help! Of course with gas $3+ a gallon it might not be. |

Wow! I am floored! I never expected anything from anyone and here I recieved a box from Godiva Chocololate today!
I don't know if the person who sent it wants to be named but I know they will read this and I would like to say THANK YOU! Much appreciated. Works great with the kids out of town so that Cliff is the only one I have to share it with. Bad thing is he likes Dark Chocolate better than I do but I am still in heaven.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
You can bet orders will be going out today with a happy heart! |

Can everyone who wants to make an order double check that your paypal address is the correct address to send order to? That the is the default address and if you don't want that address I have to manually change it. With 4 kids and more stress than I know what to do with my brain is not working as great these days so I forget sometimes (Sorry again Kim) PLEASE make sure your address is current on paypal. I know the SFR site asks for a shipping address but the mailing software inputs the paypal address.

Actually, we kinda have to use the PayPal address. It's required by PayPal Terms of Service for Sellers. If we use a different address, and there is some problem with the order, PayPal will not cover it. Worse yet, they have the option of locking the seller's account. We don't really care if the address is verified or not (most international buyers can't be verified, something about different laws).
Also note: if the address you put into our website and the PayPal address don't agree, PayPal will kick it out. So change the PayPal address first. _________________ You can never have too many dice.
