Hello All,
The images on Cafepress items will be changing after Sunday. So, if you were waiting to order anything with the image you want currently, then you might want to go ahead and get it now.

Some new artwork, but mostly items will have different artwork. The way Cafepress works, is that for a free account (i.e. an account you don't pay a monthly fee), you can have only one of each item type for sale. So for example, we can have only one Tile Coaster for sale with an image. But what we're going to do is rotate the different images around between the items. So again for example, this month the Tile Coaster has the Scalder's box artwork on it. Next month it may have the Frostwing box artwork on it. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

I hate to say it, but I have to agree. The original Treefolk art was very cool. Any chance of seeing that used anytime in the future? _________________ The Maj

No can do. We don't own that artwork. Seems TSR never paid the artist so the rights revered back to them. That's why Will had to have new artwork made. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Chuck,
any chance SFR buys a couple of certain items that are going to temporarily go out of print and eventually accumulate a set of something like the coasters? In the meantime, they could be sold on SFR's purchase page, correct?
I'm still a little up in the air on coasters, which so far are the only thing I really want.
Even as I'm typing this, I realize that SFR probably isn't going to pour any money into something like that. |

Would the artist really want that much for you guys to use the artwork? Since they already did the work, most artists seem to be open to licensing out their stuff, even on a temporary basis.
Despite what I posted earlier, and having never seen the original Treefolk artwork, if it is in line with the other original art, I would buy at least 3 or 4 items with the image if I knew SFR was only going to have the rights for a year or so. And if SFR does a couple other items through Cafepress that are more in line with my tastes, such as wallets, belts, etc....just wait for the money to roll in. |

SFR is not buying items from Cafepress as stock to sell on the website. We are offering the items directly from Cafepress. I would suggest that if you want an item from the current selection then you might want to buy it today or early tomorrow, as I will start changing the images tomorrow afternoon.

Like I said, as I was typing it I realized SFR wouldn't put even $100 into purchasing a few items to re-sell, etc....it would detract from the main goal of new starters and hopefully other new products.
No, although I like a few of the items, and would like to have them, by the time I would pay shipping for just one coaster, or one shirt, it would be too cost-prohibitive. I fully understand the business model of using Cafepress to generate some extra revenue, and I'm glad SFR is doing it. But right now I'll just wait. |

Bingo, same with me! Shipping costs really can spoil some deals! Especially over THIS distance! It's a petty, sometimes. The great stuff is always available overseas!!!
Sometimes it just doesn't make sense to buy for 8$ and add 8$ for shipping!!
Not to mention CUSTOMS!!!! _________________

Dieter,
You have no idea how much that statement is true. Over in Europe, you are swimming in two things I collect, which are very hard to come by in the US: Lone Wolf gamebooks -- the U.K versions (not to mention French versions, as well as Spanish versions which I didn't know existed until a few weeks ago) ; and Timpo Toys. So I have to either overpay for what I want, or bid less by the equivalence of the extra cost of shipping versus what Europeans would bid, and hope I get lucky and everyone missed an auction. |
