a short summary of what happend in that short period of time after my couterattack:

- JonPrud raised a bunch of dead guys and summoned a dragon to your home.
- We debated a bit about rolling a dragon. We decided to let the defender roll it himself. For purposes of progress, we decided to continue without knowing your opinion, for if you'd like to roll it yourself we can easily undo all actions that happend in my turn.
- I killed the dragon that spat on me, and assaulted you for 20 melee.

It's my turn, and I'm in the middle of my first march, attacking you for 20 melee Smile.

ok, my brain won't really work right until after Gencon, so I'll just roll for saves against 20...

opps have to do the maneuver first...
Fireshadow-4 Melee
Fireshadow-4 Fly
Fireshadow-4 Smite
Gold Medallion-4 Logo
Gold Medallion-4 Sortie

4*2 = 8, so it stays at 8th face.

now save against 20...

Fireshadow-4 Fly
Fireshadow-4 Melee
Fireshadow-4 Create Fireminions
Gold Medallion-4 Flurry
Gold Medallion-4 Logo

resolve the logo to bring back last fireshadow...
Fireshadow-4 Create Fireminions

(fly+minon+flurry+minon)*2 much greater than 20

Rolling a counter attack...
Fireshadow-4 ID
Fireshadow-4 Create Fireminions
Fireshadow-4 Create Fireminions
Fireshadow-4 Cantrip
Gold Medallion-4 Wayfare
Gold Medallion-4 Flurry

The flurry has to resolve first... rerolling...
Gold Medallion-4 Flurry ... rerolling again...
Gold Medallion-4 Logo..brings back 4 health (my 4 commons)...

Shadowcaster-1 Maneuver
Shadowcaster-2 Melee
Shadowcaster-1 Maneuver
Shadowcaster-1 ID

so I'm back to full strength... too bad I don't have a way to bring back those two medallions...

Next to resolve from the original roll is the wayfare, I'll skip it.
Next is the Cantrip, I'll cast burning hands on the fireshadow who rolled the ID.

now to count it all up...

4*2+4+4+(4+4)+2+1 = 27 melee in the counter attack?

BTW - now that I'm near full strength and get tired of beating on the undead, I will eventually come play with the furry animals Wink

I knew this attack was a mistake but 27 is... painfull...

Death Knight: Save x3
Wight: Melee x2
Wight: Melee x3
Wight: Melee x2
Wight: Id
Zombie: Melee
Zombie: Melee
Zombie: Melee
Zombie: Melee
Zombie: Save
Zombie: Melee
Zombie: Save
Zombie: Melee
Lich: Melee x3
Heucuva: Save x2
Heucuva: Melee x2
Appitition: Save
Appitition: Melee
Appitition: Magic x2
Appitition: Save
Ghoul: Save

Total: 12 saves

I'll remove 15 health, kicking me just about out of the game entirely. Well, for now at last... Let's just hope this game lasts long enough...

Death Knight and Lich both take stepped damage, knocking them back to Heucuva's. Three Wight's will take stepped damage and turn into Appiritions. Then I still have three health to go, so three Zombies bite the dust.

2nd march: no army available.

Reserves: My whole army retreats to reserves.

End my turn.

*sigh* Sad

DF - Please verify your unit count. Your last roll indicated 8 Zombies, but your initial list only included 6. I think some of your Apparitions became Zombies in that roll.

Edit - Move Dragon back to Summoning Pool.

I have a sinking suspicion that casting Backlash would have been better than summoning a dragon...

just when you thought it couldn't get any worse...

Guys, I have to apologise. I have cheated. Albeit unknowingly, I have played with 8 zombies insead of 6. Somwhere along the way, apparently the idea got stuck in my mind that I played with 8 instead of 6 zombies. Maybe a few ctr.-f's too much. This means I mad many, many, rolls with 2 zombies too much. I deeply apologise for doing so.

I do not know how to fix things though. Playing it all over seems a bit too much, as we would probably have to start from around turn one.

Darn, I feel really bad right now...

I am fine with continuing as if you had only used 6 Zombies up until this point. I think the only difference would be Cliff being further ahead.

That being said, I would be willing to scrap this game, too. I am going on vacation tomorrow. I will have internet access, but not having to track this would be more convenient.

I have already learned quite a bit here from a couple of mistakes I made. I am willing to call this a success.

No hard feelings from me.

Don't feel bad, it happens.

I remember a player at the worlds tournament at gencon a few years back who discovered an extra uncommon in her army. so she was disqualified (after playing for most of the day)

similarly, Last year Jim and John(i think it was) were playing a similar army and sometime during the game a single common migrated from one player to the other side of the table (probably during a wild roll). but the standard floor rules made it a disqualification.

I'm ok with ending this game as a draw and lets play something again after Gencon.

I guess a draw would be the best way to end this thing. Thanks for not being to mad at me, and thanks for the great game. Enjoy your vacations, both of you Smile

*I feel like I could ramble on for ages analyzing this game and all the things I've learned, but unless someone's really interested, I think I'd better not*

It was piMaster and myself playing battlefest.

We both had frostwing mages in our armies,
however,
I did not have any of the white ink (Reprint Frostwings) in my army,
so suddenly I had one of piMaster's Magus (Uncommon Mage),
as it stood out.
So I think the floor rules state an automatic loss of one round,
next turn,
but we did not report it, so no penalty.
Since I had his die,
then I would have been the one to gain the penalty, (I think anyways, kinda harsh... Confused )
although I'm not a rules judge.

Anyways,
there is something in the floor rules that also says if both players agree that the infraction would not have made any difference,
then no penalty.

Again I'm not a judge and rules do change.
I think some of this is covered in the floor rules.

It's the player's responsibility to know the rules and floor rules.

It's good to know it happens more often. Its probably good to know as well that I won't be seeing any tournaments soon Smile. I can be... somewhat messy with these kinds of things. Too much thoughts in my head can be confusing. Kind of like how I once missed out on a top 8 of another game because I went to get some waffles... Still, it's good to know what I have to be aware of next time.

I don't want to embarrass anyone, but one year I saw a player suddenly jump up in the middle of a game and run out of the room with no explanation.

I believe the cause of a case of nerves and a sour stomache...

Tournaments are so awesome, you see more cool rolls.

I didn't see it, but I heard about the 'almost million in one' roll for a dragon. someone tell me, how many tails in a row was it?

I did see an all hunter army roll all 'sneak attack'. In fact I saw it twice! and both times it was in maneuvers when it didn't count. It was 24 health so that's a 1 in 46656 each time it came up.

After reading the posts for this game, I was intrigued by the reference to the Standard Floor Rules. Is there a link or PDF file for them since I cannot seem to find them in the forum?
Thanks

I did that in the first rounds of the worlds against pimaster...(first turn as well)
however I resigned first...
since then I've conquered my nerves. Evil or Very Mad Mr. Green
