SRF Inc. is proud to announce the release of the newest member to the Eldarim Champions...... The Dragon Crusader!!!

These are available as a limited print run until their global release later this year at Gencon2011 in Indy.

These compassionate warriors have befriended dragons like none before them.

These Champions of the Shieldbearer type are more defense oriented than their brethen.. until they pull out their secret weapon.. Dragon Control!

Unwilling to slay their dragon friends.
Unable to simply tame them.
The Crusaders have complete control.

Like all champions, this is a 4 point unit that can be added to any army's starting forces.

Composed of all the elements, it can cast any color of magic (via its ID).

As a defensive unit, it sports both a 4 Save face AND a 4 Fly face!

Like all champions, it is trained in the art of 'Sneak Attack', but for the first time a Unit can now Bash their opponent. For those unfamilar with the Bash SAI: during a save roll, it turns the damage from one unit back upon itself (which can then roll for saves). It is also able to BASH a dragons normal melee damage (from claw, tail, wing or jaw) back onto the dragon!

However, the best face on this die is the SFR Logo! This is where the Dragon Crusader really shines... Like other Eldarim Champions, this is a conditional SAI. At the begining of the dragon attack phase, roll the Dragon Crusader. Upon rolling the SFR Logo, an attacking dragon of your choice is now controled by this unit!

The dragon is prevented from attacking your army and can even be directed to attack with your army against any other dragons at that terrain.

The best part of this ability is that as a Controled Dragon, the unit becomes PART of your army! The Controled Dragon moves with the DragonCrusader through reserves and via path just like a Magic Item would. It can not be summoned away via spell or any game effect until the DragonCrusader dies or releases it.

It essentially acts as a 5 pt Dragonkin, but is not as limited. It takes 5 pts of damage to kill, but also gets 5 automatic saves every time it rolls (unless it gets a belly). Additionally, due to the large size of the dragon, any damage taken by the army is assigned to the Dragon first! So if you must take 4pts of damage, that all goes towards the dragon (which isn't enough to kill it) and thus is ignored! Your other units are protected by the Dragon itself!

Like a Dragonkin, it can not roll during missile or magic, but every other time is A-OKAY!

In a melee action, the dragon icons have their normal results.

To support the other action types (save and maneuver), the following changes are made to the Dragons Icons during those two rolls:
The Jaws function as a 5pt ID.
The Wings act as a 5pt Fly SAI.
The Claws generate as 5 pts of normal maneuver.
The Treasure acts just like a 5pt WildGrowth for any race!

No rule can be all powerful, so there is a danger to Controling a dragon against its will. Each Dragon Crusader can only control one dragon at a time. The dragon must remain in the presence of a Dragon Crusader at all times!

If the Dragon Crusader is killed the dragon becomes uncontrolled and immediately makes a surprise attack on that army (which can not roll to save against it!) It then returns to its summoning pool.

This is a game changer like none that this game has ever seen! We want to thank all those stockholders how helped us to design the Dragon Crusader and spent many hours over the last 6 months testing and balancing this excellent addition to the game.

However, We at SFR Inc. retain ultimate creative control and we hope that you enjoy all the improvements that the Board of Directors decided to make earlier this morning. The idea came to us over our morning coffee and we just had to implement it.

This limited print run is only 100 dice large. Make sure that you are not the only one in your gaming group without this powerful new die!
