|
|
Standard 13-die daemon that consists of:
2 Arm
1 Brain
2 Leg
2 Lungs
2 Pincer
2 Shell
2 Wings
I'll wait for you to post your daemon then I'll roll for initiative when I get home from work tonight.
For easy reference here are the dice along with their faces.
1. Roll
a. Activate Dice:
Each die can be used for one game effect per turn. Activate your dice that aren't stunned, wounded, or grabbed. If you choose to activate a grabbing die, then it releases its target.
b. Apply Foe's Minuses:
Place to your left a number of dice equal to your foe's current minuses. These minus-ed dice cannot be rolled and are out of play this turn.
c. Roll Dice:
Roll all your remaining active dice. If you can't roll at least one body part, your daemon loses the battle immediately. The symbols they roll are the effect they can have this turn.
2. Recover
a. Recover Stuns:
You can use pluses now to recover stunned body parts. Put all used pluses and recovered body parts to your left, with your other spent dice. These dice are out of play for the rest of your turn.
3. Defend
a. Apply Defenses:
Match your defenses (and any boosting pluses) against any attacks arrayed against you. You and your foe now each set aside these spent
defenses and negated attacks to the left.
b. Suffer Stuns & Wounds:
Damage from any of your foe's attacks that you didn't negate and poison effects are applied to body parts. If an attack stuns a die, put that
stunned die to your right. If an attack wounds a die, put that wounded
die to your right separate from your stunned dice. If you don’t have
at least one body part that isn’t stunned, wounded or grabbed, your daemon loses the battle immediately.
Note: You can choose grabbed or spent body parts to suffer damage.
4. Attack
a. Apply Grabs:
Apply any of your grabbing effects.
b. Set Aside Minuses:
Group all minuses (including any faces that generate minuses) you rolled and set in front of you; they will count against your foe's next turn.
c. Array Attacks:
Set your attacks where your foe can see them, along with any pluses
you assign to boost each. Now it's your foe's turn.

Um... andymonte, usually the person with the highest initiative roll goes first....
However, as I count it, you both got 6. So you both need to roll again. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

So I'm still figuring stuff out, so let me know what I do wrong. From what I'm understanding, I'll activate dice that I can and roll, apply those results to defend against your attacks. Then apply attacks from my roll. Meaning that your defense rolls from your first turn don't matter?
Minused
Stinger
Roll
Mouth: Mouth
Mouth: Mouth
Shell: Shell
Shell: Plus
Stinger: Stinger
Stinger: Minus
Tentacle: Plus
Tentacle: Plus
Tentacle: Plus
Leg: Dodge
Leg: Leg
Lungs: Plus
Recover
Nothing to recover
Defend
Leg - Block with Shell
My Dodge can't block anything, right?
Suffer stuns and wounds
Pincer with Plus - Tentacle (plus) is wounded
Stun - Leg (that rolled Dodge)
Stun - Stinger (minused/not rolled)
Attack
Mouth: Mouth + Tentacle: Plus
Mouth: Mouth + Lungs: Plus
Stinger: Stinger + Shell: Plus
Leg: Leg + Tentacle: Plus
So all four attacks have a plus.
Stinger: Minus
State:
Grabbing
none
Grabbed
none
Wounded
Tentacle
Stunned
Leg
Stinger
Minuses
Stinger: Minus
Attacks
Mouth: Mouth + Tentacle: Plus
Mouth: Mouth + Lungs: Plus
Stinger: Stinger + Shell: Plus
Leg: Leg + Tentacle: Plus
The Rest
Shell
So let me know if I did this right or if I did stuff wrong, what all I did wrong. |

If I understand correctly, then yes, the defenses from my first turn are unused and lost when my new turn starts.
Under the old rules, the Leg was considered a sweep attack, but I am not seeing that it is under the current. So your Dodge cannot block any of my attacks since they are not considered ray or sweep attacks.
I don't think you can choose to have the minused Stinger take the Stun as it is considered out of play for this turn.
Chuck or Cliff, or anyone experienced, please shed light - thanks. |

Correct.

No, it was a 2 stun attack that required you to block each point seperately. Once you started adding pluses to it, it quickly became overpowered and I'm glad they changed it.

Minused and spent dice can be taken for stuns/wounds (tentacles that are grabbbing something can be taken too). The only body parts that cannot take damage are those that are already stunned or wounded. |

Putting together something simple for now. I'll continue to edit this as we go until it represents our current board state.
EDIT: Finished for now. It looks ugly, but over time we can figure out how we want to make it look and lay it out. One of the difficulties I realized that makes this different than Dragon Dice is that it matters which face is showing on the die for the board update, but you could still care about which die it is that's being displayed.
I did it similar to the playmat, except I consolidated it down to 2 rows, and mostly put active dice on top, inactive dice on top (using my terminology of active, not the game's definition).

Yup. It makes it easy for me to take wherever and transfer between machines, or even use on Google Docs. And I don't even have to enable macros to "roll".
I've wanted to do the same for Dragon Dice, but there's so many more dice I just haven't bothered to, yet. But I'm still considering it... |

Mouth with plus
Stinger
Leg
3 Minuses
Statuses of body parts:
MINUSED
STUNNED
WOUNDED

Block against your Stinger = negated
Arm against your Leg = negated
b. Suffer Stuns and Wounds
None to apply
4. Attack
a. Apply Grabs.
No grabs
b. Set aside minuses.

So that will leave a pincer/wound attack, leg/two stun attack, and 2 stun attacks.
1. Activate Dice
Dolus
AndyMonte
2. Recover Dice
I can't.
3. Defend
Block against your leg/two stun attack = negated
pincer/wound attack - tentacle (I assume I can't choose the stunned one to be wounded)
stun - Stinger
stun - Stinger
4. Attack
That leaves me with 2 stuns and a leg...
