Here are the first information about our next years tournament:
Date will be saturday, the 15st of june, place will be the NordCon in Hamburg again.
For people from outside i recommend the Ibis Hotel Sankt Pauli:
http://www.ibishotel.com/de/hotel-3680-ibis-hamburg-st-pauli-messe/index.shtml
It is clean, cheap and close to the public traffic system. To the Con it is 8 km away. And it is very close to the wourld famous Reeperbahn with it´s shows, bars, clubs, musicals etc.
To inform about hamburg please take a look at the official tourism side, which offers accomodations too:
http://www.hamburg.de/
More information will follow !

Some players from the united states are thinking of coming over the ocean next year. If you were enough (four till five), i will organize an additional event at the same weekend:
A kind of Ryder´s cup, were a european team will play against a team from the united states to pit our strength against you. No, it should be a pure fun-event for the players (not so ambitious).

A few of us here are planning to make it out to the 2014 tourney. I know I know, thats a bit out. But I am hoping to make my way out there then. A friend of mine was pushing for this coming up one, but I just dont have the cash due to other expenses. I do wanna go though. _________________ Will

Here is a first proposal for our optional "Ryder Cup" in 2013 or 2014:
Each team ranks its players to their estimated playing ability. Then nr. one plays against nr. one, two - two etc.
Each match would be a best of three, the winner gets one Victory point for his team. |

This was seriously just a random thought. I would love to make it out there but I have NO way of knowing what will be at that time. A friend of mine follows the forums and thought it would be fun to make it sometime. He mentioned the 2013 event but there is no way as a trip like that needs a smidge of planning. Thats the entire basis of thinking its possible for the 2014 one. Ill surely know by Oktober Fest next year though. _________________ Will

| The plan for the far future looks very good. What about the Spiel in October in Essen ? Is there an official representative of SFR, who maybe run some games or have some special dice ? |

To all you Dragon Dice™ –Fans out there !
We invite you to the Open German Dragon Dice™ Championchips 2013 in Hamburg on the 15th of June.
Location is the NordCon, which is a large fantasyroleplaying Con.
It is a 36 points single race-tournament with the normal restrictions for armybuilding (max. of 18 points of magic-producing dice etc.).
Each player makes three matches, then the best four go to the semifinal, from here we play k.o.-system. 50mins a match.16 starting places. We will follow the rules for sportsmanship of the SFR-Tournament rules.
You have to bring your complete dice and playing stuff with you. An entrance-fee of a few euro has to be paid for the Con, the tournament is free. All published armys, the magestorm-expansion and battlefields are allowed. There will be enough time for discussing tactics, swapping dice and so on.
Meeting time is 9.30am, start of the first match 10.00 am. Estimated finishing time will be 5pm. Beginners are welcome, people from other countrys too ! To get a starting place send an Email to me.
We look forward to meet you in june in hamburg ( a beautiful city by the way) ! |

with sadness I have to announce that I will not be able to make it to this tournament.
It's not that I can't come it's more that I am not in europe at that time. I have to give a training in the US at that time. I actually had the misses ready for a long weekend. _________________ tumble tumble little dice, look at that I'll strike you twice |

Hm, I just stumbled upon a thing Jens wrote.
The tournament is going to be a single race tournament? Does this mean, I can't mix two races and field a combined army? That seems... odd. At the German Masters event we could field whatever combination we like. I just put a Goblins only army on the battlefield, because I don't have enough dice. If I had some funds, I would have bought some Frostwing missile troups to support my Goblins.
Is there a reason why you allow any rules and dice but this one? I haven't much experience with dragon dice, but MtG for example profits from the Mix&Match-possibilities. There are tactics you won't get with just one race. Some Amazons at a temple hometerrain for example with some aggressive undead for example. Good missile and maneuver abillities at the home terrain and some power at the other ones.
Jens, could you explain your reasons? |

Think to single race as a format of game such as modern, standard, ecc in MTG.
complete rules here (this page is somewhat buried in the website):
http://www.sfr-inc.com/singlerace.php
namely:
Expansion and Promo dice are not in use for this tournament.
All dice must be from the same Race with at most 4 commons, 3 uncommons, 2 rares, 1 champion and 1 monster of any type.
For the purpose of this event, color and icons on the Acolytes of the Eldarim are ignored.
ex. You may bring at most 4 Sprinters regardless of the color or icons.
ex.You may bring either 1 Lord or Master, but not both.

Sorry, thats not correct.
Jens plays an own set of rules, where you may play any number of dice in one race, plus any magic items. _________________ All gone |
