...another rules question from the CSDDG.
Treefolk vs Undead
So there I was, newly captured of my opponent's home 8th. Since Jaime had a lot of heavy hitters, he decides my double saves aren't much of a threat and attacks. Nice hit! 18 melee.
I roll enough to block the damage, including counter. Now, since all saves are doubled, this also applies to counter, right? Therefore he would have to take 8 damage. This is how we've always played it (and since it comes up so rarely we've never had it questioned before). However, Jaime is a relatively new player and wanted clarification from the rulz-guyz.
Sound off! _________________ The Maj

The wording is that Counter produces "four save and four melee results." Since these are separate kinds of results, only the save results would double due to the 8th face. You would still only have four melee results. I would expect that melee results would double if, for example, the unit generating the Counter was under the effect of Burning Hands. _________________ Steve "DDice" Braun

Here's part of the spell description: | Quote: | | This spell remains in effect until it is used by the unit or until the unit generates non-SAI melee results needed by the army. | And in general, spells cannot ever modify results generated by a SAI. Good or bad. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Just didn't read far enough down into the description. But only the saves double in Joe's case, right? _________________ Steve "DDice" Braun

Terrain effects can double SAIs. So the save part of Counter is doubled if you own the 8th face. _________________ You can never have too many dice.
