    17 magic, but otherwise nothing much interesting anyways. The dragon lives.

    I would love to cast a giant firestorm for once, but I guess I'll go for double pong.

Hmm, I think I'm losing the game of pong here -

My footman should be in reserves.
Before the Dragon attacks, I'll promote my dkin to a hero.

Pong was never my best game!

Hero to Champ before dragon attack.

Dragon Roll against 15 -
Footman: 1 ID
Gold Dragonchamp: 4 Melee
Gold Medallion: 4 Flurry
Pony Rider: 1 Maneuver
Thaumaturgist: 2 Melee
Theurgist: 1 Magic
Theurgist: 2 Magic
Theurgist: 2 Magic
Theurgist: 1 Magic
Wizard: 3 Save

Flurry
6 Melee
1 ID
3 Saves + 3 Auto Saves (Before Ash Storm)
I'll use the Flurry as melee results and roll it again -
Gold Medallion: TSR Logo
Bring back the Wizard -
Wizard: 3 ID

So Now -
6 Melee + 4 Flurry = 10 Melee = Dead Dragon
3 Saves x 2 + 3 Auto
4 ID.
Ash Storm for ID, so 2 IDs which become saves.
5 Saves x 2 = 10 + 3 auto = 13, so 2 comes through. I'll take a thaumaturgist to the DuA, but then promote a theurgist into the thaumaturgist for the dragon kill.

And that would be way complicated for a beginner, I'm thinking...

Ok, this game is now over.


Gah! That gold medallion cost me the game. Frustrating die turning every losing position into a winning one. Wayfare in the first turn, and flurry + logo in the last...
I did make a few mistakes though. Probably the biggest was going for 2 dragons too soon. If I just went for one and filled the rest with ash storms, I would probably have ensured it stayed there, allowing me more safety and more room to add a second one the following turn. The flash flood + dragon was probably too risky as well. And finally, keeping your home at 6 was bad as well. I probably could have just turned it down and leave it, as your reserve forces would not likely stand up to flash flood + one or two ash storms.
Thanks for the entertaining game though! The dragon pong was quite funny.

As for the list: I would really include a resurrectional spell for all races, as there simply isn't any room to recover from any failure or bad dice. Also, I'd keep the medallions out of their reach for now as well.

Thanks for the game! Yeah w/o the medallion I was probably toast. Thanks a lot for the input on the spells. I think I'm going to go with your suggestion on the Flash Fire / Dancing Lights. I'm also going to drop Breath of Life for Hail Storm and add a generic 3 point resurrect spell.

I'll probably give them the Medallion Wink

I do enjoy the dwarves, especially the Skirmisher and Mammoth Riders. They just lack some saves, but the shield items were suppose to help them there. I kept trying to move them in to my home but I had to keep pressure off my mages. My plan was some Ash Storms to keep your Scorching Shields down and some TRtM to keep you from taking the 8th. I figured a good roll with BH could put a big enough dent in your horde, but it ended up being a dragon game.

Ash Storm / 2nd Dragon Summoning is always a tough call. But with me having an 8th and doubling, the Ash Storm probably would have been better like you mentioned.
