I could understand this warning if we artificially inflated our post totals, by doing things like counting down to the next significant post number for no good reason at all, but our post totals are organically (or, if you prefer, intrinsically) inflated simply by our pursuit of a given subject to its logical (or, in some cases, illogical) conclusion.
As for capping our post totals, it's a rare day that either of us exceeds 8-10 posts. Or can you cap us while giving everyone else an unlimited number of posts? And, honestly, have we really abused our posting privileges that much, giving the DD community nothing in return for our use of bandwidth? (And no, Chuck, I won't concede that the cross-topic posting that you deleted was abusive, even though we'll never do it again. In fact, it will become a legend on the forum-the "lost cross-topic posts of Steve & Joe.") |

Nice to see this! First guy using famous Mr. Green ! (Besides me, the self-crowned president of the Mr. Green Fan Club!!!
(OK, now that I've completed my research you're not the first anymore but among the first! )
Added short after: This just cracks me up!
Your forum program exchanges "mrgreen" by "margarine"!!

Just being curious, Chuck,
does every member have sort of his own dictionary / vocabulary list in the spell checker (you have to register yourself to add terms) or is every word added by a member being added to the total pool of vocabulary???
I'm asking because the members' names aren't known by the program even though the appropriate members have posted lots of posts and the name should already be added by themselves and therefore be available to every-body's spell checker!
Guess I'm already answering this question by myself _________________

OK, I just enabled posting ranks. I've updated some the low posting ranks to something a lot better than BUA and DUA. The numbers for the ranks not will change with time, but this is what they are right now:
| minimum posts | rank name | | 10000 | dragon | | 5000 | monster | | 1000 | rare | | 500 | uncommon | | 100 | common | | 50 | dragonsteed | | 25 | dragonmount | | 5 | dragonfoal |

Major crash due to the server move. I think it's all back. If you find any problems let me know via email. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Are you sure that was the real reason? It wasn't just to keep Joe and me from posting the next installments of Once Upon a Forum?

I know that it's pretty much of no interest to anybody, but I just noticed that I'm on position No. 4 as far as total posts is concerned (including counting Joes cut down posts which should actually be something around over 800??)
So there's just Chuck, Steve and Joe in front of me!!!
That makes me feel a little proud, cause it shows how much envolved I am in this forum!
And it shows how much fun it is to discuss with you and to bother you with stupid questions!
I'm really glad that I was able to join your community, guys!!
At this point I'd also like to say thanx to everybody for giving me a great time, for helping me out with great and useful advice and especially thanx a lot for your patience in answering all my questions right from the beginning which made my new start into DD with the new rules easy and enjoyable!
OK, OK, OK, OK! Just to stop Mr. Green from bothering me with annoying complaints I herewith state that it was an honor and even more fun to be President of the one and only Mr. Green Fan Club

What happened to deputyfife? Is he banned from the forum or did his wife forbid him to play DD? Otherwise Dieter wouldn't be No. 4.
Maybe it's just because it's summer! |

You're right, Andreas! When I went through the memberlist I also noticed that I haven't heard of deputyfife for quite a while.
Dunno what happened to him, maybe he's on vacation???
Yes, he was very active on this forum and we might be "fighting" for position No.4 if he was still posting as regularly as he did before.
BTW, I just passed the 10% marker with this post!! _________________

Sorry about that. An update to the forum software went badly south (more south than Steve and Joe). I've restored the forums. Double-check your profiles, it's possible somethings when wrong in the last week. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

BTW, an change I put on the forums, is on the number of members below. Note that now there is the number of members that have registered, and a second number which is how many have posted at least one message. Seems to be a rather large difference between those two. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Due to "spam" memberships, I've changed the forum membership list. At this point, all new members are "moderated" automatically. That means that I or another moderator has to approve any post that new member makes. Also, all members with zero post totals, no longer show up on the membership list. Apparently a new way to boost your "Google" score, is to add your website to forums. By doing these two things, I'm denying these spammers from getting anything from this. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Added a new "mod" that allows a forum user to see what topics are "watched". From that panel, you can delete any topics that you no longer want to watch. It's the first control on the top. _________________ You can never have too many dice.
