Double Strike is a "Instant Normal (melee)"
"During a melee attack or melee avoidance roll, Double Strike generates melee results; roll this unit again and apply the new result as well."
But we'll see what chuck, cliff, or pi says.

Initial Effects - 8th face Temple will force you to bury 1 unit in your DUA.
1st March - Magic
Enchanter - 3 ID
Conjurer - 2 maneuver
Conjurer - 3 magic
Evoker - 2 magic
Evoker - 1 magic
Eagle Knight - 3 melee
Archer - 3 missile
Archer - 2 ID
Fighter - 1 melee
Fighter - 1 melee
5 ID doubles to 10. 6 magic, so 16 magic total. I'll assume with the temple you choose to bury your antelope, so I'll use 9 for bloat corpses to bury your wolverine, and 6 to cast lightning strike on your bear.
I'll retreat everything but my magic units to reserves.

uh today I've re-read the manual (part of it actually) and realized that when an army leaves a terrain at its 8th face it is turned down to 7. so your home should be at 7 now

Also thank you for being so kind to train me through my very first game (BTW I've played my first irl game yesterday with my wife, good woman, I trashed her by attrition ) and especially thanks for the patience you had wih me. You made me a better gamer (in despite of you nickname LOL).
I haven't heard from you since some days now, I guess you are busy moving - if i got it right. I hope everything's well on yor part.

Sorry for the delay. A week of moving, just finished a week of bgg.con, now a week of Thanksgiving followed by the second week of moving. :p
I forgot to drop the second eighth down. Not sure what my immediate road to victory is since I don't have path, I'll have to look when I have time.

I'm still curious about what sweetberlinetta said about how you would lose. I would probably send a lot of lightning strikes at you to whittle down your army, but I see that I could also cast magic to move the dragons away, move my reserves to the terrain, and next turn, cast several wind walks and maneuver up. So maybe that was it. But that's not fully guaranteed either.
