Perhaps the biggest news from GenCon as far as the future of Dragon Dice was the popularity of our Novice events. A number of players who demoed the game during the day later came back to play in Novice events. We had anywhere from 1 to 8 players at most of these events.
Then there was Thursday night...
After having 4-5 players at the first two Novices of tha day, we expected a similar turnout. I came back from the booth (which had closed at 6) to handle the 7 PM Novice so John K. could run Single Race. Then we saw the turnout.
We had 18 players show up for Novice!!
While it took awhile to get everyone setup and started, the event ran very smoothly, and most of the players picked up the game quickly. At least ten hung around for the full four rounds we ran. It was an impressive event!
Unfortunately, I thought I had taken a picture of this event, but either I didn't or it was deleted from my camera. If anyone has a pic, could you please post it on this thread? Also, if you played in this epic Novice tournament (easily the largest one ever), please chime in about your experience. _________________ Steve "DDice" Braun

Hello,
I demoed Dragon Dice at Gen Con this year and would have really liked to get in on your novice event.
I am definitely going to do it next year!!
BTW, did you sell out of those $10 bags of double starters? I only got one and would love to pickup some more
Anyways, I really like the game. Just have to get my friends to give it a try now.
Thanks again. _________________ I'm a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar... |

Glad you liked the game.
The double starters was a sorta GenCon special since we ran out of the Spanish starters. Don't think that offer will be repeated. _________________ You can never have too many dice.
