I'm just getting back in the game, so my grasp on the rules is a little rusty, but my friend and I were playing the other night, and two small problems came up. We decided for ourselves how we would resolve them, but I'm curious to know what the official rulings are.
First, he was playing as Lava Elves, and he had a pair of Rakshasas in his army. When rolling for skirmish, the illusion SAI came up. Now my question is, does the four health of my units targeted by this SAI get to roll saves? We decided no, but I wanted to know what the rules say.
My second question is this: Later on, my friend cast four Ash Storms. I was rolling to hit him during a skirmish, and I came up with four Smites and three actual hits. Does Ash Storm take effect before or after you resolve the Smite hits? Is it the same if someone were to cast Palsy? We decided that the Smite hits made it through, but that Ash Storm then negated the three normal melee hits. Again, I'd love to know what the official ruling is.
Sorry for the long post!

Illusion has changed. Look at the new rules, and you'll see a big difference.

Simple answer on the Smite, no magic protects you from it. Just as it says in the newest rules (you have looked at the new rules, right?).

I have looked at the new rules, but my schedule is so hectic that I haven't had time for more than a quick glance at each section. Thanks for the help Chuck!
