HI. I received an email Thursday night 2/22/07, saying my order was shipped and contained this tracking link:

http://trkcnfrm1.smi.usps.com/PTSInternetWeb/InterLabelInquiry.do?origTrackNum=91017850914010688818509101785091401068881850

As of Saturday morning 2/24/07, when i click on this link the post office says they have no record of this shipment. Is this something I should be concerned about? any ideas?

USPS tracking links are just not implemented correctly. Unlike UPS or FedEx, the packages are not bar code read as they move from place to place. The only place they are consistently read, is when they are delivered. So all it will tell you is that the package is on your front porch (or was). Sometimes they are read as they are picked up, but not always.

BTW, there are a number of blogs (rants really) on the web about how poorly this was implemented. But it's been unchanged since it was first implemented about 6 years ago.
