Hi!
I'm starting with this game and reading the rules I've found 2 questions in the Dragons Section.

1.In the Dragons Attack phase, step 2 (Roll Dragons) it says that if you obtain any tails, you must apply them now. But later on, in step 5 (Army's response to the Dragons Attack), it says that you roll your army in a combination roll.
Does it mean that I must roll to save the tail's 3 hits and, in step 5 roll to hit and save?

2.I've read that when I summons a Dragon, it belongs to me, right?
But I keep reading and find that during the dragon's attack phase of each player's turn, the dragon attacks that player, even if it's me?
Did I understand right!?
So what's the point of summoning Dragons!!!???

Thanks in advance for your help.

1) Applying a result simply means you count those results now. Think of it as tossing the damage onto a pile. So you "apply" the three points of damage from the Tail (toss it onto the pile), the reroll and count any additional damage (toss that damage onto the pile). An applied result can't be changed by other effects unless they can specifically change final results. But all of the combat damage is inflicted at one shot on the army. (Breath, of course, resolves before other damage.) That's why the army makes one combination roll.

2) Once summoned, a dragon belongs to no one. As I often put it when doing demos, "Dragons don't like anyone, including you." Obviously, summoning a dragon to a terrain you have no army at is not a problem. But even if you summon a dragon to the terrain you're at, the dragon only attacks at the beginning of a player's turn. (Check out "The Turn Sequence" in the rulebook.) So after you summon it, you can retreat during your reserve phase, and never have to face the dragon. It will just attack the other armies at that terrain on each player's turn. The dragon stays until killed, summoned away (except for ivory dragons, which can't be summoned away!), tamed by a Dragonmaster/lord and flown away, or flying away if a Drake rolls Wing.

Dragons are never part of your army. They are simply elemental forces that can be used strategically to disrupt your opponent's plans.

and in special cases can be strategically used to help yourself. There are some cases where you would place a dragon on yourself.

Thanks for your fast reply. Fast and Clear.
Could you explain me this? How can you get advantages playing a dragon on yourself?
I still haven't played a complete game of dragon dice, and don't know about strategy.
