... all the collective dice you bring to a game? All your units, terrains, dragons, etc...
An army is a group of units, so that doesn't work. |

When describing your entire setup,
I use "Army".
ie... Chuck's Battlefest Army.
this would describe all the dice involved in the setup.
After the game begins, then "Army" goes into the rules description.
(so then there would be 3 armies in the beginning of the game for that player.) |

| I have thought there is already a word for this: Starting force. It is mentioned sometimes in the rules and it's not an army because a starting force is not located anywhere. |

When a noun or description is attached to the beginning of the word "army",
it signifies the collective description of all dice used.
Although this is not in the rules, this has become common practice.
A perfect example....
Xerox is the name of a Corporation,
but because people refered to photostatic reproduction as "making a Xerox", the name stuck through common practice.
Thus, Mark A. Wiker's World Champion Army will be known as such.
What else would you call it? |

I agree with Jim
Collectively, all the dice you bring to the table are usually called an army. Interplay used the term "Battle Legion".
Starting forces refers to the non-Dragonkin units and Magical Items/Artifacts/Medallions.
Once the game setup starts, the terms used in the rules book are in effect. |

For my "armies" I usually use the term BAPOC: "Badly Assembled Pile of Crap." _________________ Steve "DDice" Braun

I usually call it a BPOP: Big Pile Of Pelters
No, make that RBPOP: Really Big Pile Of Pelters.
Other people call it TBPOPIESIML: The Biggest Pile of Pelters I've Ever Seen In My Life.
Or maybe it should just be called "That crazy kid from Jersey's sick obsession." _________________ Former Destroyer, son of Ddice
