Today i played with Deeghter and a third player.
I played a scalder Army, home was complete magic, horde was 4 Charkin 3 Singeman and 3 Dragonne Tender.
The problem was, nobody tried to attack me, cause the heavy damage the scorching counter is able to make.
8 damage backwards with only magic saves possible, is that not a bit to powerful?

Not really. As you noted, magical saves will protect you. Open Grave and Leaving would work as well. Scalders don't scorch during a counter-attack save roll, so if you attacked them on your turn, they wouldn't have to worry about scorching touch when they counter attacked.

Game balance. Otherwise they are too powerful. So if they attack they take a chance.

BTW, while this has been covered before, Scorching Counter does not give back 8 points of damage. It gives back 4 (from the Counter) first, and then a second 4 points of damage from the Scorching (along with any other Scorching saves). Why is this important? If you have a Watery Double and a Wall of Ice on your army, and you have a Scorching Counter back at you (with no other Scorching saves), you would take zero damage.

the 2 x 4 rule is not new for me, we played it so today.
But were stands that they not scorch in counterattacks?
I can´t find it anywhere in the rules.

That's why Scalders are very dangerous against no-magic-armies.
If you can't provide your army with magic saves, the Scalders' Counter SAI can be very deadly!
Imagine 2 Counters coming up (=16 damage) together with a couple of those fiery saves, your attacking army dissolves in smoke! Shocked Twisted Evil
