I figured this qualified as a variation since it is a game played with dragon dice and with very similar rules.
1) Does anyone know if MarkW is still around/interested in this project he started?
2) Would he or anyone else care if someone else took up the mantle and finished it?
3) Do any players remember this game and do you think it was worth revisiting, finishing, completing?
I bring it up because i tried to teach my son to play again this weekend and he said it was too complicated and could we go back to playing Duels. However, he's getting to the point where my knowledge of what Mark ahd completed ends and he's not gonna want to stop... |

I haven't talked to Mark since I saw him at GENCON two years ago. However at that point we did talk about Duels and he didn't have any problem with one of us picking up with what he had and trying to get it finalized. He gave me full permissions on the Yahoo DDDuels Group, so we can use that if we want to. _________________ John Koslow |

John, I know how your life situation has sucked away your available time. Lets see if anyone besides us is still interested and maybe we can go ahead and knock it out. |

| I'll take it. I just need some input from people who have actually played the game to make sure I get it right. Who's up for it? |

You can try and contact Mark via this link: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/user/mawiker
It seems he's still active there. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

I've got some notes somewhere around here plus I think I've got some of the information in electronic format (including player sheets). I'll see what I can find. _________________ John Koslow |

I have some stuff saved on my home computer for duels. I could not quite figure out how to play based on what I had. I will be happy to send anyone the info I have saved _________________ 5,117 dice and counting (not all races are counted yet) |

Thanks Chuck. I'll do that.
As for written documentation, I think we all have what Mark had on his website.
What I'm interested in are the custom rules that came up that last Convention Mark was at.
I was the first person to play an undead duelist (vampire) and got to 10th leve with her. So we had to 'design' some rules and clarifications as they happened. John had a maxed out frostwing mage, so he used the spells much more than me.
those are the rules that are missing. |

I got ahold of Mark in a single email and he generically said he needed to read the new rules and update duels, however I don't feel the original rules were ever finished.
I'm going to move this thread over to the yahoo group if anyone wants to discuss items there. |

I'd much rather you kept the discussion here. Yahoo has a habit of losing archives, and then we have nothing as far as what was discussed. I'd love to move this forward as a separate set of official rules someday. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Hee-hee ok. Do you care if I set it up as a seperate forum? We can track things better that way. seperate threads for spells, sai's, racial abilitys, etc...
