I know this is late notice, but I did manage to get a few events on the schedule for Dreamation 2008. This will be at the Hilton in Woodbridge, NJ and not in its usual location in East Brunswick (just this once). It's only two exits up the NJ Turnpike. We'll be running Single Race, Novice, Battlefest, Sealed Box, and the DENCC Region 4 Championship (which gets you a bye into the National semifinals or finals). Quick post-con report on Dreamation:

Tournaments: Probably due to my late notice, the tournament attendance was terrible. (The con also had a last-minute venue change, which didn't help.) Here are the winners of the major events:

Sealed Box: Robert Braun
Regional Championship: Robert Braun
Battlefest: Robert Braun

The Dragon Dice community ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY CANNOT LET HIM DO THIS EVER AGAIN! (And don't ask who was second in all these, but he knew Robert very well.) There were only about four participants in all the tourneys this weekend, and most were related to me! (Good news there-my 9-year-old daughter, after a demo, played in the Novice event and did pretty well, although she didn't win it.)

Now the good news: Robert and I ran a lot of demos, and I sold more starters at this con than in my previous two combined! Buyers were of all ages-kids, teens, and adults. I also had at least two people who own dice, are going to download the rules, and then look us up at DexCon to possibly add to their collections. From a "start new players" perspective, the weekend was excellent. (I also had two players who plan to be at GenCon, and I told them to look up SFR there.)

Now, here's my challenge: DexCon will run July 16-20. I would like to run multiple Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced events there. I could use some demo table and event help, but most of all we need to turn out players for events! The National Championship (run under the con host's auspices) provides you with a trophy, prize points from the con, and (I hope) a really cool prize from SFR! We'll also have lots of prizes for our other events. And, if you can be there, let me know what events you like and I'll try to get them on the schedule. I want to show the other gamers at the con that DRagon Dice is alive and well and ready to beat them out for popularity.

Unless they get nailed again, the con will be in East Brunswick, NJ, and the Hilton is immediately off the NJ Turnpike at Exit 9. So mark your calendars and plan to be there. East Coasters, it's a great way to get into a big event if you can't make it out to GenCon!

(P.S.- MY younger son Jonathan, the Frostwing lover, bought one FR kicker off me, and finally got his Magi! So he decided to press his luck, bought a Treefolk kicker, and got a ^%$$#& Unicorn! So he decided to try one more time, bought a Scalder kicker, and got...



a Quickling and a Charkin. BUt he certainly was happy with his haul!)
