...but it seemed logical.

Lets say I wanted to go to a convention with my personal stash -o- dice. What is the best way to transport them?

I remember when this game was in its prime, they had plastic carrying cases with different sized compartments. Are those still around? Anyone know?

Thanks!

Depends on how many dice you were planning to take. Ziploc baggies, tupperware containers, or small boxes might work for smaller quantities of dice.

Dragging around huge quantities of dice is not recommended, but if you must then large plastic cases would work (or a suitcase on wheels).

Go to your local home improvement megastore and look into the organizers section of the tools area.

It's an excellant question, and one I'm certain will generate a variety of responses.

My usual preference is the "Battle Box", which is large enough to hold 8.5" x 11" reference charts, several dice bags, rules, spell cards, and other game accessories. Sadly, these are out of print and difficult to find.

If you are looking to haul a large selection of armies, Stanley makes a "Professional Deep Organizer" with 8 yellow removeable box-shaped compartments that can be seated within the carrying case in a variety of ways. Compartments are in several sizes: 3.25" x 4.25" x 3.75" tall, 6.25" x 4.25" x 3.75" tall, and 9.25" x 4.25" x 3.75" tall (the last has inserts to divide the space into 2 or 3 cavities). The cover has a transparent plastic lid (polycarbonate) with two locking flaps (similar to a briefcase) and completely closes off all the compartments (ie: no gaps). It measures 4" high, 16.5" wide, and 13" tall, made out of black plastic (polycarbonate) with a yellow carrying handle within the confines of the 4" x 13" x 16.5" dimensions. It can lay flat or stand up like a briefcase. This should be available at a hardware store or a Wall Mart. Easily carries and segregates 8 armies, terrain dice, dragonkin, and other accessories.

I use the latter for carrying several armies for extra players that don't have dice.

The last two years I did two different approaches.

one year I took everything! this means 18-36 health of every die (except the ultra rares)

I mainly did that cause I had room in the car and I hadn't decided what army I wanted to play with in the worlds.

the next year I preplanned the events I wanted to play (single race, battlefest, monsters, etc) and I built 4 armies and took them in a dice bag each.

I use the card collector boxes...
that and some sort of bag with a strap.
Many people like backbacks.
I like the shoulder and waist packs.

You find that neatly stacking the dice works well,
or just throw them into the boxes...for example armies...
