I do a lot of demo's at Gencon and most everyone seems to assume magic works a certain way until I correct them.

So, I'd like to play a game with simplified magic rules similar to the way people seem to want them to be. I know it will be a shorter bloody game, its definitely not a 'turtle' game with the subtleties of path to victory, its more of a stand up fight.

This will be pre-constructed armies from the first 4 races (dwarfs,goblins, and the elf twins) 50 health armies (one of each die).

Intermediate rules (meaning no promo, no magestorm) with the following changes to Magic resolution.

No ID doubling, no spell list.

When performing a magic action, you choose one of three sub options:
1 - Help me - target your DUA, roll for magic. Every three* magic points brings back one health. This action can be performed from reserves.
2 - Hurt you - target any enemy army, roll for magic. Every one* magic point inflicts a point of damange on the army who may roll to save
3 - Kill us all - target a terrain, roll for magic. Five* magic will summon a dragon of the same color to that terrain.

The rational is that a warrior must try for swords, a missiler must try for missile, a mage must try for a particular spell. All RPG's are like this, you pick the spell first and then check for success.

Cantrip - This performs as a magical smite during the 'Hurt you' sub-action and as magic during the other sub-actions. If has no effect during any other roll*.

*If this is not a total failure I might play with these values for balance

so anyone interested for this shorter simpler version of DDice?

no, its only 46 health, I counted the missing monster. my program doesn't have as nice of bbcode as some others (i got busy on other things) so you can use Brad's or do it manually.
