The most current Advanced Rules as found on the SFR web site will be used. This session counts as a qualifying session for the 2010 DENCC Region 4 Dragon Dice Championship (see Cxx4). Cxx3: Dragon Dice “Constructed Starter” Event: Bring your own 2-Player Starter, constructed as you see fit within the following limitations: Two 18-health armies, each of a different single race. Each 18-health army must consist of 1 monster, 1 rare, 3 uncommons, and 5 commons and all must be different (ie: no more than one of any single die). One Coastland, one Flatland, one Highland, and one Swampland terrain die must be included, and two different colored Dragons (choose from black, blue, green, gold, ivory, or red). Intermediate Rules as found on the SFR website will be used. This session counts as a qualifying session for the 2010 DENCC Region 4 Dragon Dice Championship (see Cxx4). Bring Your Own Materials. Players without dice can still play with a pre-constructed army provided by the gamemaster. Beginners Welcome; Fun, All Ages. Sunday, 9:00AM – 1:00PM.

As additional details become firm, I will update this forum listing. If you have any questions about the convention or the events, please PM me.

Unbelievable-that's the same weekend as the New Jersey Music Educators Annual Convention. That rules out Friday, but I should still make it on Saturday. I want to play after several years of judging. (Then again, the way I play I might be better off judging.)

I like the tournament itself...
all the rounds and possible ways to qualify.
They even play a round of multi-player as I understand...
this goes back to the old school tournaments,
which are really fun....lot's of rounds.

Sooner or later, I'm going to make it one of these.

Results of DRAGON DICE Events at DREAMATION

C321: Dragon Dice™ Novice Tournament. Thursday, 8:00PM - 12:00AM
This was in the first listing of events as DREAMATION opened on Thursday evening, but no one signed up for this event.

C439: The 2010 DENCC Region 4 Dragon Dice™ Championship. Friday, 8:00PM - 12:00AM. This event was preceded by some demonstration gaming to introduce Dragon Dice to some of the DREAMATION staff. Jared Schuller and Robert Cornelius came in first and second in this qualifying round.

C514: Dragon Dice™ Sealed Box Tournament. Saturday, 9:00AM - 1:00PM. Usually among the most popular events, I was very surprised to see no attendees to this event.

C551: The 2010 DENCC Region 4 Dragon Dice™ Championship. Saturday, 2:00PM - 6:00PM; Session 1B of 2. Saturday, 2:00PM - 6:00PM
This event was posted as a "Constructed Starter" event, but since a number of new players showed up from demonstrations last night and this morning, I polled the players if they would prefer the "Single Race" format or the "Constructed Starter" format. All of them voted for the "Single Race" format, so that's what we did. Mike Schuller and Russ Lockwood advanced in this qualifying round.

C563: Dragon Dice™ Novice Tournament. Saturday, 2:00PM - 6:00PM
This event was prefaced by a couple of demonstration games to teach the new players the basic game mechanics and teach some tactics. Gavin Youngs and David Waldorf placed first and second for the Novice tournament.

C599: The 2010 DENCC Region 4 Dragon Dice™ Championship. Saturday, 8:00PM - 12:00AM. Jared Schuller became our Region 4 Champion using a Scalder "single race" Army.

C612: Dragon Dice™ Novice Tournament. Saturday, 8:00PM - 12:00AM
This event was prefaced by a couple of demonstration games to teach the new players the basic game mechanics and teach some tactics. Frank Warren and Matt Kaminsky placed first and second for this Novice tournament.

C674: Dragon Dice™ Terrain Playtest Event. Sunday, 10:00AM - 2:00PM.
Playtest versions of new terrains being developed were used as the Frontier terrains for this event. Ironically, all of the games were won by capturing both Home terrains, so none of the Frontier terrains ever made it to the 8th Face!

DREAMATION had slightly under 1500 attendees, with Saturday being the most active day, both at the convention and at the SFR booth. Very few experienced Dragon Dice gamers attended, but I was pleased to introduce the game to 12 new players, of which 8 went on to play in the Novice and Intermediate games. I expect to see several of them return for the Dragon Dice events at DEXCON XIII later this year.
