I like that idea, but it would be complicated. If I did it, I would probably mix up my undead DUA with the undead I need to bring in. I do however like the idea of having undead as dead units revived. I'll have to try that to see how it works.
In case people were wondering, I really like undead. They sided with the pelters in their quest to conquer Esfah.

How about just giving the Undead auto step damage as a theme,
meaning if one is killed you can bring in a one health less
of the same type without having to have any Undead units in the DUA.
But keep in mind that the Swamp Stalkers originally had
a one third health mutation pool,
and that idea was scrapped. |

Yes, because it made Swamp Stalkers way too powerful. No other race could bring in more health than the game maximum. We did a lot of play-testing and the idea of having a promotional pool is not the problem. The problem was not letting all races have it as well. Add to that than certain races can promote more easily (Feral, Swamp Stalkers), or do other special things with the DUA (Undead), and it ends up unbalanced. So we simply dropped the idea of a promotional pool. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

So a killed FireShadow would return as a Dracolich?
Then if the Dracolich is killed he is out of the game?
The Monsters are not all the same,
What would a Medusa return as?
I played a computer game once that worked like this,
Your units all started out small,
IF they survived damage...and not the first time
but after a unit survived about 2 or 3 battles...
it was promoted to a bigger unit of the same type.
So to simplify this concept,
If a unit saves individually,it gets promoted to the next higher rank.
Individually means it was targeted somehow.
If a unit dies, it dies. |
