That's right we finally have a big enough player base in Omaha to hold a Dragon Dice tourney!!! WOOHOO!! (It only took my 2 years!)

When: Saturday July 20th at 10AM and 1PM

Where: Probably St. Paul's Lutheran Church 13271 Millard Ave (though I have a phone call in to Dragon's Lair on Blondo St)

Format: We will be having 2 different tourneys. at 10AM we will be following the Gen Con Worlds venue: 36 points, half magicians, all expansions included. At 1PM we will then be following the Gen Con battlefest format. 60 points, no magician limit, all expansions.

Format will be Swiss style with SoS being the tie breaker.

Prizes: Prize support cometh! Cliff said he will send us something!

Scoring:
3 points for a straight up victory (2 8s or you kill off your opponent)
2 points for holding one 8 and your opponent has none.
1.5 points for a bye
1 point if you are tied after time is called (both have an 8 or neither has one).

Depending on prize support we will either have 1 overall winner (the most points after both tourneys) or if we get enough prize support for 2 winners we will prize out after each tourney.

Time:
Games will be 45 mins maximum. As TD I hold the right to adjust this time (shorten it) to keep the tourney moving in a timely manner. However everybody will be made aware of the time before each round begins.

Thanks to everybody who came out!! I'm a little fuzzy on all the details on the armies and rank orders, but I'll do my best from what I remember. I will make any corrections when I get the pics with the final results.

Main Event - 36 points - normal rules - expansions allowed
1st - Matthias - Phoenix x 8 / Gold Medallion (Coast Tower / Wasteland Vortex)
2nd - Lastnightsdinner - Dragonne Knights x 4 / Charkin x 2 / Lady x 3 / other scalder cavalry
3rd - AP Chris - Assailers x 6 / Magus x 9
3rd - OJ6 - Treefolk
5th - Shizzle - Goblins (Death Mage x 5 / Troll x 2 / Leopard Rider x 2 / Filcher x 2 / Trickster
5th - Nick - Gold Eldarim
7th - TJ - Coral Elves

Battlefest - 60 points - no limits
1st - AP Chris - Fireshadow x 15
2nd - Matthias - Dragonne Knight x 4 / Charkin x 2 / Lady x 4 / Genie x 3 / Unicorn / Gryphon x 2 / Dragonne Tender x 2 / Gold Medallion

I'm pretty fuzzy after this in how the order went...
Shizzle - Goblins (Including 5 Trolls) and some Necros
OJ6 - Dwarves (including a behemoth)
TJ - Undead
Nick - Hunters x 15
Jared - Wolfpacks and Crocosaurs

A great time was had by all!!

Interesting stats:
I only lost one phoenix in the whole first tourney.
AP Chris never lost more than 2 fireshadows in his battlefest games.
Plague wiped out 10 wolfpacks and crocosaurs in 1 turn
Several times there were 6 black dragons on Shizzle and TJ in battlefest but neither of them really took much damage. They were both at 8th faces.

Found out about this about a few months late. Any plans to do another? I was starting to think I was the only person in Nebraska that still had a collection of Dragon Dice?
