Okay, gang, here's another stinker the Saturday players came up with. Give us your 'official' take on it.
I have a feeling I may have been very, very wrong. (And for me to admit that, it hurts)!
Played with Stan and Jake yesterday. Stan used Lava Elves, Jake played the Undead, and I brought Scalders out of hibernating in my box for a few games.
End result? Scalders 2, Lava Elves 1.
What came up during the game was that after Jake had finished a turn, I came to the realization that he could have won the game. He was sitting on the 8th at home, and had two units at the frontier, which he had turned to 7. Stan won the game by using gold magic (he had a high stones), and Pathed his wyvern rider to the fronteir to outmaneuver the two 1h Undead there.
Now what I (perhaps mistakenly), realized. If Jake had done things in this order, he could have won. Follow along now...
First March: Unopposed at the frontier, moves it up to the 7th face.
Second March: Magic at home. (He got 16 (using doubling) and sent 2 wyrms to my home, then used Dust to Dust to bury a dead unit). What if he had used 9 of that to cast Night Moves on the frontier guys? If I read the rules for that spell correctly, it gives them another march. He could have then moved the terrain to the 8th for the win. Since I saw this after the fact (and I wasn't completely sure), we didn't do it, and thus Stan took the 8th there and won.
So, was I right, or wrong?
Thanks! _________________ The Maj

First, let me savor this for a moment...I'll save this quote for our next CWC game (assuming we don't have the electric light show again next time).
You were right after the fact-Night Moves would have given him an extra maneuver at that terrain, and since he was unopposed he would have one. Guess that means you'll have to throw the next game and let him win (but, of course, don't let him know that you're throwing the game). _________________ Steve "DDice" Braun

Steve is correct. Night Moves gives you an extra Maneuver (not an extra March, remember, a March is a Maneuver followed by an Action). You always have to watch out with Undead, they can take a 6 to an 8 in one turn if they get 9 Undead magic. Given that Restless Dead is nearly the same as Wind Walk, they can be very dangerous if they can generate a lot of magic. _________________ You can never have too many dice.
