|
|
As we begin the second quarter of the year, SFR is proud to finally and officially make our new product releases.
For those paying attention these should come as no surprise. There will be three releases this year: Battle Chest, Kicker Pack : Dwarves, and Kicker Pack: Goblins.
The Battle Chest is a rerelease of the magic items and artifacts. This completes our three year plan to replace the old Magestorm Expansion.
The two kicker packs will replace the Two Player Starter which went out of print early this year.
Now the most exciting part! In the quest to give an incentive for existing players to purchase new product...
These two kickers will contain the mysterious missing monsters! The behemoth and the cannibal are making their debut.
An analysis of product sells show that we sell the most of scalders and frostwing kickers. As these are not uber powerful races the only explination is their monster rarity. Thus the new 5th monsters will follow that pattern of 1 in 40 kickers.
However in addition we have listened to our players requests and introduced some chase dice with alternate ink colors! Each 5th monster can come in its original ink color or one of 5 alternate inks! We estimate it should take less than 450 kickers to get a full set of all 6 ink colors, but due to random variations your mileage may vary.
Thank you for supporting us through the years and enabling us to have this ground breaking year!
If you liked Scalders, you are gonna love these new kickers! _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

1 in 450... and yet... awesome... I cant wait to find out what the new monsters do. I can't wait till next GenCon, when I will probably place a new order.
As for the magic items and artifacts - will there be something new with them as well, or will they just be the items we know and love?

Sorry, no mold changes for the Battle Chest. But new ink colors. So now there are 125 dice in the set, plus 3 new ink colors! So there are 500 magic items and artifacts to collect. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

I think its 1 in 40 for the new monsters, but there is 5 alternative inks. I can already see I'm going to buy a months salary worth of these three new products...

Happy april fools, I'm sure the Behemoth and maybe the Cannibal are coming out , but 1 in 40 chance of getting them has got to be the joke, along with different ink colors, that would just be plain rediculous..lol _________________ "Another days useless energy spent." Moody Blues |

Said it many times before and will say it many times in the future..What this game desperately needs is a new Dragon Dice™ Commanders manual, a flashy one with lots of graphics, charts, artwork, strategy tips, and of course rules. Kids love eyecandy and if a flashy rulebook tells them that their army would benefit from a certian die, well theres at least 2 or 3 more boosters sold. Surely publishing such a rulebook cannot be anymore expensive than making new molds and releasing another expansion, can it? A flashy manual is much more eyecatching than a small expansion box. This game desperately needs advertising and a new commanders manual would do that from the bookshelf alone, some ads in the game industry mags wouldnt hurt either... _________________ "Another days useless energy spent." I think a Commanders Manual is a good idea, but I also think it should be separate from a rulebook. There's enough content to make both two distinct books. I was even thinking for budget purposes, a print-on-demand supplier (like Amazon?) might work for a high-quality no-risk commander's manual.
I started messing around with a design for personal use of something like this, but it's definitely not an easy task. |
