Is it casting a bazillian burning hands and rampaging an 8th face?
Maybe its avoid your enemy completely, and just casting defensively from reserves with your mages to make for a smooth lift to 8.
Maybe your the SAI king and just dont leave home with out them being at least 75% of your mobs.

I personally really enjoy the self ressing armies. Its the only way I found that its possible without mages (though its still the underdog by a long shot). I dont play or collect feral, there are so many ways. Convert/Gold Medal/Kings die are really fun. Thats the thing about vamps, they can cast so they are not dead in the water. The other one I like is SS's with a gold medal and/or kings die. The only issue I have found with this is that you also need a terrain hopping ability. Wayfare is ok but something that works on an action would be better

I have not yet tried this with treefolk though. I bet w/wild growth/replanting and teleport would be the way to go.

I would like to add a 2nd. I have been mucking around with any build and adding 1 random 4 pts. into the mix. I feel that a 32 point army hardly differs from a 36 point army, and if played right that random monster could be a game changer.
