Hey guys I am completely new to dragon dice and am going to my first league today. I am not really sure what I want to play yet, I like the idea of magic and terrain manipulation or maybe a dragon summoning strat sounds cool too. However I have not really seen these in action and am kinda lost as to what a good army might be composed of. Here is a list of what I currently have, I do plan to acquire more but would like to figure out what I want to play as a main army first. So I have 2 questions for you guys, what do you think out of what I have looks good and not so good. Also is there any dice in here that are particularly rare that I should be conscious of when trading? Thanks for any help guys. I can't wait to start playing!

The Frost Ogre is an exceptionally rare monster, so if you plan to collect Frosrwings, hold onto it. It's not as potent as it is rare, so it might not see a lot of "employment" in your armies as your collection starts to grow.
Your initial army-building options will often be dictated by what dice you have available. If you have some dice in particular that you are fond of using, then start assembling your army around them with other dice that follow the same theme or have some synergy with them.
The elephant-folk would be an asset in a melee-based Feral army, but their Trumpet SAI only works with other Feral, so this would promote assembling a Feral "Single-Race" army based on melee, saves, and maneuvers (so you can change the terrain towards melee, as well as the 8th Face). Having magicians as a part of such an army will work, as Feral magicians have melee and save faces, but don't maneuver very well. A "Single-Race" army can be used for an Intermediate event, but if you want to play in an Advanced event, adding one or two Eldarim Champions (either the Dragoncrusader, blue Dragonzealot, or gold Dragonzealot) could be fun.
If the event is an Advanced event, I would consider including one or two Eldarim Champions in a "multi-national" army. The Ghost can be "splashed" into any army, but if you want to take advantage of the Undead's step-damage racial ability, then the army should have a significant contingent of Undead (at least 12-health of mixed sizes). An army of Eldarim, Frostwings, and Undead could be interesting. _________________ Daniel Burkley

Thanks for the help guys, I ended up getting some additional Treefolk, an Oaklord, a sayter and some others. I really dug the games we played and am now looking forward to trading the frost giant to acquire some more dice!
Also I was wondering what the advantage to the ivory hybrid dragons. It seems weird to have a color since the ivory can already be summoned by any color. |

Whelp, the new rules for them are summarized as follows:
Ivor hybrids will always attack a player regardless of other dragons that might attack the ivory/hybrid.
Let me explain:
If I have a blue/ivory hybrid at a terrain with one of your armies, and there is also a green elemental(single color) dragon at that same terrain, the ivory will be attacked by the green dragon but then, if she survives then she will attack your army, and your army attacks the ivory/hybrid and not the elemental dragon.
2nd, yes ivory's are summonable by any color, however they can only be 'moved' by their elemental side. Meaning if I have a red/ivory hybrid, I can summon it with blue magic to a terrain, but then they are stuck their unless I can kill them/they fly away or my opponent uses red magic to move them. _________________ Will
