This is a generic thread that will answer the most common questions about the Online Product Simulator. It is a living thread that will evolve with time.
Edit(04/26/2012) - This is now considered to be Live and will be posted to Facebook.
More features will be coming later as its integrated into the other new sections of the webpage (ie being able to roll your randomly generated pack) _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99

For now this is a place holder, over the next few weeks this will be completed and then over the next few months will be integrated with the other online content (like being able to analyze or roll your simulated product).
What is this? Its a simulator. You pick a product that is sold in a randomized format and this will ran the random calculations to tell you what you might've gotten.
Why is that? Its fun! Also, it was requested by those who want to run virtual 'sealed' events. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

So... I'm assuming that when you generate a random product you will want to cut and paste those results somewhere...
what format would you prefer the dice be listed in? Some people like the real die names and some the rarity and type and race. some like other mixtures... _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

:O It's like you read my mind! Okay, now we need Chuck to read minds.

Clearly you don't have enough work to do, yet, so...
Can we customize it?
Checkboxes for what type of formatting you want for the results, such as:
-BBCode
-Name
-Race
-Rarity
-Die type (heavy melee, magic, etc.)
Other "stretch" things that may not be as necessary:
-Links to the die in the die browser
-Faces of the die
-Chuck Point Value
-Hrmm...
I think the biggest desire I see is to get the results either as BBCode so we can do a sealed game. But then also to have the option to view the name/rarity of the dice with a picture of the face. _________________ Collection |

| I can not begin to explain how much I shouldn't be working on this, but I started so I want to get SOMETHING done today even if its not the end product...
I will keep those things in mind, but don't go holding your breath just yet.
I blew all my freetime for website today, so it'll be next week before I can tweak it again. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

okay, I've done what I can do in the time allotted for now.
http://www.sfr-inc.com/productsimulator.php
Its not perfect yet. I know there is something wrong with the setup of the starters, they don't have all the terrains or consistent sorting. I will probably tweak the look of the dice box... later.
but its mostly functional and runs pretty quick...
I haven't tested all browsers yet, so let me know if anything looks weird. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

It is pretty fun. I am playing with it now since my wife ordered 3 Amazon/SS starters for me and some Dragon Kin. Its the one thing i enjoy about buying kickers or starters is i dont know what i am gonna get . Even she gets a kick out of opening them haha _________________ 750 Dragon Dice and Counting! |

Corrected the spelling on the Fairy (though it isn't spell Fairy )
look into the terrains and the am/ss sorting now...
BTW - thank you for the offer. I've actually got a PHP die roller. I've been using it to play Dragondice online for two-three years now. Lets just call it a beta test.
the tricky point is figuring out if I want to persist the data as part of the forum login or a separate login or at all. _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

FYI - something screwed up as I was building the Product Bins to pull dice from. I had to rebuild all 4 starters and the terrain bins. but they all work now.
I like things to look balanced, so I put the dragons in the middle so the two races both start in the leftmost column.
now a few days of 'other' work and then I'll get into either the die roller or army analyzer...
probably the latter as it builds up to the other... _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |

I just saw something awesome... maybe its just a firefox issue or my firefox...
click on any starter, then click on any die in that starter.
in my display the two commons in the right most column 'dance' (ie move one pixel to the right and then one pixel to the left) as the die detail loads. its kinda awesome... _________________ Multiplayer Champion Gencon11/Battlefest Champion(tied) GenCon10/World Champion GenCon07/National Champion Origins05/Intermediate Champion GenCon02/Novice Champion Origins99 |
