Very late notice everyone but this is how we roll......


We had the last-minute opportunity to bring Dragon Dice officially to the Southern California Strategicon event GATEWAY 2016 held near LAX Airport at the Hilton. We get these events three times a year at the "3-day weekend holidays" and I'm glad to report we have always had more and more interested players and very enthused younglings.

Today (Saturday Sept. 3) we played a 40-point Build Your Own tournament:

36 pts. Standard construction/ 50% Magic limit + 1 Eldarim Champion
TOTAL = 40 pts.

This format has been favored by many players at our weekly events in Burbank - so we adopted it for the official tournament today. It gives the Champions guaranteed action in every game, often to surprising results.

We had 7 players (one was disqualified and had to leave, for an unrelated reason that had nothing to do with us) so we decided to have the remaining 6 players engage in Three-Player Games with 45 minute time limits.

Everyone seems to enjoy the dynamic of Three-Player Games much more than the backgammon setup of a Two-Player match.

THE HOBBIT: "The Battle of the Five Armies"

It is playable by 5 players, and we may cycle the game twice at different times tomorrow because we probably have 10 players and everyone should have a chance to play.

We look forward to having more of these events throughout the calendar year - the Staff at Strategicon have been very supportive and love having the energy and smiles that always appear at our events.
