Okay gang, here's one to make you scratch your heads...
Last night the Colorado Springs Dragon Dice Guild held our first BATTLEFEST tournament. Several new players joined in despite their lack of large collections (NOTE: House rule - if your opponent did not have 'kin or minor terrains, you couldn't use yours).
Stan played his fresh from eBay Amazon missile army to dramatic effect, pinholing his opponents and causing a few new colorful adjectives to be created ("Your Amazons suck like Hoovers, Stan."). Wes finally prevailed with his Scalder/Goblin army, but only because Stan made a hasty decision that cost him the game (he left his missile army at a melee face and got walloped).
During after-tourney discussion, this question was brought up....
Suppose Wes had cast a TRtM on the Amazons? We know it affects maneuvers, and since the Amazons use maneuvers as missile results in the flatlands, would a TRtM have effected the missile results of that army? My opinion was that it would, despite the fact that I love playing them.
Heated discussion ensued. Finally, they agreed to abide by what ye gods of SFR had to say.
Lay it on us!

The answer is yes, Transmute Rock to Mud will subtract from Amazon maneuver results during a missile attack. See the section in the advanced rules on applying die modifiers (pages 22 + 23).

Brad is correct. An even better spell against Amazons is Wall of Fog. Halves missile and maneuver! _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten that one. I'll have to conveniently forget to mention it to my opponents next time I play the 'zons. _________________ The Maj

I just worked myself through the rules again and read the roll modifier section, too.
There's an example for a Coral Elve army now, which very clearly explains this!
Have you just added that example during the last two or three days, Chuck, or has it been there for a longer time already?? _________________
