Hi!
I had situation where 4 black dragons was attacking my mages at 8th...
If I would have summoned one dragon of other color to that same terrain, would it be so that all those black dragons will attack at that other colored dragon instead of my mages? _________________ Every day is great day for living |

| Dragons always will attack a dragon of another color rather than attack an army at the terrain. That's true even if it involves a tamed dragon (see rules on Dragonlords and Dragonmasters). Problem with that, it that your opponent only has to summon away one dragon for the other dragons to attack you again. Also, if the dragons don't attack you, you don't get to attack the dragon. So if your army doesn't have any black magic, then the black dragons are there until you kill them. |

This is another question on dragons, separate of the first.
For some reason the other day, I had it in my head that a player could use their march to attack a dragon at the same terrain. My opponent said no, dragons can only be attacked during the initial dragon roll. I'm pretty sure he's right, just wanted to confirm that from anyone? thanks.
One more: since dragonkin won't fight a dragon of the same color, they don't roll, and so their auto saves wouldn't kick in. Correct or incorrect?
I know it isn't in the rules, but would a dragon attacking an army want to kill differently-colored dragonkin first? |

He is correct, you can only attack a dragon when it attacks you (ie start of turn)

Completely up to the player taking the damage (as normal) |

Can a spell target a dragon, then(during a missile action?)
I'm not sure it would be worth it to off a dragon, and what spells could do it, I'm just wondering hypothetically.
Say an army at a different terrain cast some magic(using a march) at a dragon because it had rolled belly in the dragon attack that turn. Suppose there is magic out there that can kill a dragon. Would the army casting the magic get to promote? |

No spells may target a dragon. Note that Summon Dragon targets a terrain, not the dragon itself.
A dragon can only be killed during the dragon attack phase of the turn, either by a slayer/hunter or by normal (bloody) means. |

The only spell that targets dragons is the Summon Dragon spell. One common mistake that I see, it that the spell summons dragons to a terrain. It doesn't say where the dragon comes from. So you can use a Summon Dragon spell, if you have the right color, to take a dragon off your army, and send it to another terrain. A question that come up on the old email list went something like this: "What happens if I roll 2 Cantrips on a dragon attack. Can I use that magic to send the dragon away?".
The answer is yes you can. But (you knew there was a but didn't you?), the dragon's damage (if any) is still there. So if a dragon rolls jaws, those 12 points of damage still have to be taken by the army, even if the dragon is sent to another terrain. Also, if you send that dragon to a terrain that you have an army at, that has not yet had a dragon attack, then the dragon will attack before your first march. |

So what you are all saying is that when a dragon rolls a belly, and I come tantalizingly close to killing it by getting 4 hits with my roll, I can't try to attack it again with the belly roll still active? |
