Heya folks, first of all I want to say hello, I'm Paul, and I just recently felt the urge to get into Dragon Dice again after about 9 years of forgetting it even existed. I played it when I was a young teenager just getting into the world of Fantasy RPGs, including DnD and DD. Played it is kind of relative....my best friend and I played a few times but we kind of made our own rules (two teenagers with ADD struggle with complicated directions) anyways, I digress. If this is the wrong forum for this topic I apologize, but what I wanted to do was a ask a question...
How would you folks suggest someone such as myself go about getting a decent collection started again? when I packed my old dice away I had bought a starter kit, the dragon shield, one box of magestorm and probably a handful of kickers. In the years since then I may have misplaced them. As of right now I have a kicker of Monsters and Amazons and a kicker of Undead. Hopefully a new starter set will arrive soon, at least I think it is a starter set, its hard to tell. EBay is tricksies. I don't mind investing some money, but honestly I don't have a whole lot to spend, and none of my local retailers carry it. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get started again without spending an arm and a leg? I know eBay sometimes has decent deals, but frankly it can get expensive very quickly.
I do plan to order some product from SFR soon, but by current packaging and prices it would be very very expensive to get started again in that way.
Also on that note I'd like to applaud SFR's effort to rekindle this fun and unique game. |

Welcome back to Dragon Dice! If your local retailer does not carry Dragon Dice, ask them to. If they check they will find that all game distributors carry Dragon Dice. So they have no excuse along the lines of "they can't find it to order it". If you do want to order directly from us, we don't mind at all. I'll just point out that it's better to save up some money and put in a big order than several small ones. Shipping is much cheaper that way.
While eBay may seem to have good deals, quite often those get expensive with the shipping and handling charges. The rare times a good collection goes up for auction, it usually also commands a high price. Sometimes you can get a good deal, but you really need to know what you are bidding on.
BTW, check out the latest edition of the rules from the main SFR website. I hope you'll find them much easier to understand. And feel free to ask here if you have any questions at all. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

I can say this, you can get some really inexpensive Spanish started from SFR good deal on those.
I know of other places but hate to take away from SFR. One place in particular I'm thinking of even has the Cast of Fate novel REALLY inexpensive in which you can get the dragonslayer die, not to mention cases are cheap too.
If Chuck knows who they are and wants to post it.. that's up to him, I just don't want to get booted for trying to promote another seller... but like Chuck said you can find good deals if you look around. |
