|
|
| This is one that has been done before in a various games, but I think would go well in the Dragon Dice world... some sort of fungoid race. Perhaps they could be fairly weak in melee combat, but have decent saves. They could be average with missile, except that missile works different for them... they have poison missile attacks. Instead of opponent rolling saves vs their missiles, they roll a maneuver instead. As per poison, any that die must roll a save or be buried. Does anyone like the concept of a race like this? Any other ideas for how they could work? |

good but keep in mind Fungoid have more then just Poison. Their spores have been known to paralyze, confuse, mutate, choke. Oh and hitting them usually releases said spores. not to mention the DUA could only make them stronger as Fungoid live off dead things. But seeing as the new races are a ways off it is good just to throw the idea on the table for later. _________________ Got to love wolves, overwelming numbers, act as a team, Nature ready made army.

| interesting idea about the living off of the dead. Perhaps something like... any time an opponent casts death magic, fungoids in the dead area are rolled... any id's rolled are moved to the reserves. This may be rather tough, though. Another idea is... at beginning of fungoid payers turn, choose one DUA. For each point in the DUA, an equal number of health of buried fungoids may be rolled. Each dice that rolls an id may be sent to the fungoid player's DUA. This would be less powerful, but would introduce a new concept to the game... a race that simply regrows from the dead. They must then be raised back to life, though which would force the player to use magic. Another possibility it... as a march, the fungoid player may roll his/her reserve army for regrowth and may select any one DUA. For each id rolled, that many points may be brought from the fungoid DUA or from the fungoid buried area into the reserve army. The number brought back is limited to the health of units in the selected DUA. This is a nice benefit as it can bring back dead or buried, but the drawback is that the player must have units in reserve and must expend a march to regrow. I kind of like this option since it is useful, but slows the player's ability to confront opponents for a period of time. It seems unique enough, yet not ridiculously powerful. Coupled with the units only having average saves, it could be interesting. So another point... all of the color combinations are taken for races (other than whites). What colors would this race be? Any ideas for new elemental colors? |

Instead of introducing a new color you can make them Green-Mud and nickname them as mud-Treefolk.
Mud isn't a new color, it's just a variant of Gold (which doesn't look as Gold), some sort of minor Earth. So they can cast all golden spells, and eventually some optional mud-spells.
(An example for an optional rule: They can cast golden spells only with problems (for instance only if they are in a terrain with gold in it), but then additional mud-spells are available.)
If you want to give them existing colors, and if they shouldn't be mixed up with any race, then you have to use three colors (or more). Green-Gold-Black would fit. |

Only problem is, we tried some tri-color when we made Treefolk. They don't work. It's really hard to tell it's three colors. _________________ You can never have too many dice.
