I think a forum to discuss game strategy would be interesting. For instance, one could discuss how he annihilated his poor nephew's armies by using his eserves to cast multiple Stoneskins on his five Dwarf Mammoth Riders and then charged down from his highland terrains, leaving nothing left but the splatter of Selumari blood, and with minimal casualties! |

Wow! That was fast! I hope this doesn't end up a monologue. There have got to be other dice geeks like me out there somewhere! |

What are your favorite army Combos?
Mine is of Course Feral/Pick a race with Gold or Blue.
All Feral in the beginning,
Then Feral/Dwarf
Then Feral/Firewalker
Now I don't know. Possibly Feral/Treefolk.
What about you all?

Hi!
My favorite combo is Firewalkers/Scalders. I also like to play with all Feral armies.

Great question!
Here are some of my favorite combos:
Goblins/Undead: Strong black magic, stepped damage, leopard riders, and trolls to bring back the dead!
Coral Elves/Treefolk: Good movement, lightning strike, and missles from the elves; path, melee, and strong saves from the tree folk. I wish I had a Unicorn though.
Scalders/Swampstalkers: Intangibility, fire magic, and flaming shields from the Scalders; mutate, poison, and crocosaur from the stalkers.
Feral/Amazons: I dare you to step into my flatland terrain!
Dwarves/Firewalkers: Mammoth riders combined with movement from blue terrains, and lots of fire magic! |

From my limited experience, I like Frostwings and Coral Elves. I use the Coral Elves with a few Frostys at a home coastal terrain and loads of frostys in the horde. With wings I get both saves and maneuvers so that works well. It is also archery heavy.
I have only played Ferals alone. Haven't tried a combo with them yet.
I think dwarves and lava elves would work well, but haven't tried that yet (NO RED DRAGONS Arrrgh).
Don't have enough amazons to do anything with. Also, no scalders, undead, swampstalkers or tree folk. when I am flush with money will see what I can do with them. |

SO many ways to mix up an army I like to go with an all Feral army from time to time, I'll still use my Heavy Hitters army of Mammoth Riders and Leopard Riders (Trample and Rend got to love um). But a all Wolf army can really kill, there is a lot to be said for an army where every unit has the potential to re-roll for more damage 3 (Group ID and 2 Rend) out of 10 times and Howl 2 out of 10 to make their foes drop their guard and lose 4 saves. _________________ Got to love wolves, overwelming numbers, act as a team, Nature ready made army.

Once built an all-leopard rider army, and through a few lucky rolls was able to rend my opponent into oblivion. _________________ D Scott O'Brien

The use of the Knoll as strategy:
The highly popular village seems to be the choice of most,
but if you use a monster army, consider using the Knoll.
The Landslide disaster face deals damage equal to the number of units,
and maneuvers negate the damage,
in a monster army, the damage should be small enough that their maneuvers should negate all damage.
(the monsters can absorb up to 3 damage)
I use this in my Army of Rocs.
(the Knoll has the most missile faces of all the minor terrains)
So to keep with the forum topic,
I like to use specialized dice versus army combos as a choice,
but in this case
Roc/Phoenix
or Dwarves/Firewalkers |
