A golden Champion appears to slay the witches. But alas, he is too late, he's ensorcelled and thrown into the brew.

The Stone Wall Defense:
Here is an army formation based on old Chess Opening,
The Stone Wall is used as a defense while you set up your offense.

In this variation,the Highland Home terrain will be a tower,
the Home army will defend the tower,
while also trying to defend the deadly Trebuchet,(CRUSH can bury)
also the army awaits the arrival of the "Army of Rocs"
once the Army of Rocs arrives at the Highland Home Tower,
Seize the Moment!!!!

Stone Wall Defense:

Home:Highland Tower
Adept x3 (pawns)
Infiltrator x2 (Bishops)
Red Dragonhunter (Knight)
Red Trebuchet (Rook)

Campaign:Highland Tower
Adept (pawn)

Horde:
Roc x2
Phoenix
Dragonlord
Red Speed Slippers x2

2 Red Wyrms
Red Dragon Champion
Red DragonSteed
Red Dragon Mount
Red Dragonfoal x3

4 Highland Knolls (the most missile icons of all minor terrains)

The Landslide disaster deals damage equal to the number of "units"
(not counting magic items)
maneuver rolls negate this damage(include the magic items for this result)
the Most damage this army could ever try to negate is 17...
and that would be if all dragonkin were in play...
then with 2 speed slippers the number drops to 15...
if no dragonkin were in play...9
and you have not even rolled yet...
the entire army should be able to generate 9 maneuvers.
if the speed slippers generate 2 Maneuvers each,
then 7 is the number to negate.

Highland Terrain Advantages:Provides Defense
The Highland Doubles Maneuvers for the Rocs
The Lava Elves can use maneuvers as saves at a Highland
Red is the common color.(to double magic and carry red magic items)
The Infiltrator has a 5 maneuver face
that could be used as saves on a Highland.

Offense:

Melee:
Phoenix,Dragonlord,Red Dragonhunter have Smite,
Roc has Rend
Phoenix has Flaming Shields (Save Icons count as Melee)

Missile:
The Dragonlord and Red Dragonhunter can use Sneak Attack
(During Missile and Magic)((Sneak attack can be used on an opposing army only)
Combine that with Seize (Phoenix/Roc) and Crush (Trebuchet)

The Tower can missile any terrain:
Crush and Seize (both have choose up to 4 health worth of units)

Seize Dragonkin (they can't go to the reserves,so they are killed)
Seize or Crush units (this is very effective,allows you to
bypass Dragonkin protection by Choosing units)

Defense:

The Infiltrators and Red Dragonhunter have counter
Lava Elf and Dwarf Racial Terrain Advantage

Special Combos
The Dragonlord has cantrip,which can be used to path,
path can be used to bring units to the home terrain,
once all the units are present at the home terrain,
and the 8th face tower has been achieved,(choice of terrain to missile to)
during a missile attack,if the Dragonlord were to cantrip,(casting path)
Seize/Crush could cause an entire army to leave an 8th face,
allowing a path to victory,
or path a unit with speed slippers
(Depending on which terrain you would path to,
Roc gains double maneuvers on the Highland,
the Phoenix could be pathed and then use Terrain Flight (terrain with blue), to return,
or the Phoenix could remain and if it were killed,
the Phoenix could use Rise From the Ashes to maintain the speed slippers.)

The Dragonlord's cantrip can also path a unit to the Horde,
this unit could also carry the Trebuchet.
This may be an option if the terrain that the horde is at
is on a missile face,a highland,a terrain with blue,or a tower.
If the trebuchet is brought to the Horde,the Phoenix can protect it,
by using Terrain Flight (terrain with blue),or a rise from ashes.

Witches' Brew II

The Witches have dusted off the cauldron,
and are getting ready for another Hootenanny.

So what in store this year?
With Special permission from SFR,
each die selected into the cauldron, will be added
to a very special Dragon Dice screen saver.

here is a sample screen saver called Dragons
(Click on the blue word "Dragons" to download)

To paticipate,
simply select a die to be added into the caludron,
and embelish it with some incantation.

a traveler,

The Witches agreed, but as the traveled leaned over to have a sample,
the Witches pushed the Traveler into the cauldron....

Now that the Unseelie Faerie had tainted the broth,

one of the Witches broke off a Branch and started to stir the cauldron.
The sap from the branch started an over-boil.

Much to the Witches' surprise,
the fire was being attended to by small group of pyromaniacs.
As the flames grew more intense,
the scalding brew created a cloudy mist.
