The rules state that a Kings' Die can hold an item and even a Medallion. Somewhere I read the suggestion that they should carry a Silver or Gold Medallion to allow you to roll them in the initial effects phase and try to revive items/units to your reserves.
However, in the Magestorm section it says items don't function (i.e. aren't rolled) when in your reserves. So as Medallions are magic items (albeit metallic and powerful), this shouldn't work right? Or am I missing an exception somewhere?
Thanks again,
Jason |

Just the fact that a Kings' Die is holding an item, doesn't mean it can use it. Here's the whole thing. A unit carrying a magic item (could be a Medallion) goes to reserves. That unit leaves the reserves and the Kings' Die holds it. Some time later, another unit comes into reserves and leaves with the magic item. Or even better, a unit carries a magic item into reserves, and it is killed by a Finger of Death. The magic item would not be lost, because the Kings' Die can hold it.
In any case, no magic item works in reserves. A Kings' Die is rolled at the start of your turn (initial effects) to bring back units. But the fact that the Kings' Die is holding a magic item is meaningless. That's all it's doing, holding it. Can't use it. _________________ You can never have too many dice.
