Now that the event submission deadline is past, is SFR going to let us know what events are being run at GenCon? _________________ "Everything Brad said is correct." - Chuck Pint |

The events are posted on the website. However, they are not official yet, because the event people at GenCon have not "approved" them yet. But what's posted is what we hope to get. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

Is there going to be a Seminar this year?
I noticed that there are no qualifying rounds for sealed box and world championship listed. I'm not certain that sealed box ever needed a qualifying round, but what about the world championship? _________________ "Everything Brad said is correct." - Chuck Pint |

We haven't decided on the seminar (aka stockholder's meeting).
I guess you didn't read the description on the Worlds. This year we are going to run it in one round. We also added one "fun" event for Sunday afternoon. Last year there really wasn't anything on Sunday. Now the "Monsters Only" event will be on Sunday. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

No, I didn't click the links to get the details because I already know what dice are allowed for each format.
It does simplify things to have the entire event in one slot. _________________ "Everything Brad said is correct." - Chuck Pint |

You misunderstand. We will run at least 3 maybe as many as 5 rounds, but all within a 4-hour "round". So there is not likely to be any ties. _________________ You can never have too many dice.

ah, so you meant Round, not Round. I see the difference.
I suspect that I'll be running the booth while Chuck judges, so it doesn't really matter for me anyway. |

And if you don't maybe I'll have to play! _________________ John Koslow |

I can remember the last two times I actually played.
The previous to last was when I won nationals at Origins. I was so happy to have defeated your frostwings twice in a row. Magic negation doesn't work to well when my mages are defended with a Dragon Slayer.
The last time was at worlds that same year. My luck was so bad and I was rolling so far below the probability curve that Chuck didn't even want to be at the same table incase my aura started affecting his rolls.
Cliff
p.s. I lied I did play one last time when Chuck came to visit. Apparently that was when I saw a true blue TSR master. All I rememer is that my scalders and unicorns got owned.
I'm rusty. I'm gonna play battlefest and probably sealed. But I yield to you for worlds, you probably have a better chance than I would. |

Ok, all the events we put in are accepted. Event registration goes live on Monday 5/7. If any events fill up, post here. I can and will increase the amount of players... _________________ You can never have too many dice.

I have an idea for the Sealed Box at Gencon 2007.
The new Starter box has 3 army cards, that have reversible sides.
But you really need to have 6 cards to mark the game properly.
So here is my idea:
Use the 3 army cards for Home, Campaign, and Horde.
A Special Reserves, Summoning Pool and Dead Unit area
could have a small run printed (collector's)
with SFR Gencon 2007 printed on the back.
This would be in celebration of the new SFR Starters.
I know cost is a major issue.
(It's just an idea.)

Jim,
I like the idea.
I think you'd want a "Buried" card as well for the set. Said cards could be autographed as well. |

| Instead of individual cards, you could have a single sheet divided into four areas (like what I use). There's not much time until GenCon, but a local print shop should be able to make up something. |

By using army cards,
the player can put the new cards in the starter box. |

Just an update. All Dragon Dice events will be in room 138 at the convention center. Here's a link to the convention center map: http://www.iccrd.com/pdf/iccmap.pdf _________________ You can never have too many dice.

I also checked, some of the events (Novice) are full. Many of the others are nearly full. However, I have no problem with taking official generic tickets or the unofficial green generic tickets (you figure it out).

Here's a link to the convention center map: http://www.iccrd.com/pdf/iccmap.pdf | Room 138 should be a pretty good location as far as "drive-by" traffic is concerned. Last year we were in room 150 or 151 which wasn't a bad location for the games but it was somewhat off the beaten path for anyone heading towards the TCG events in Exhibit Hall F. If we make sure we have signs up in the hall just outside the door, we may be able to pull in a few more people.
What's the max number of players we have listed for the Novice events? And what's the possibility of adding more Novice events and/or increasing the limit on the ones we've got scheduled? I know we can accept generics and exceed the specified limit but I'd hate for potential new players to not show up because they thought they wouldn't be able to get in. _________________ John Koslow |
